AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO APPROVING AND ORDERING THE
ANNEXATION OF HORNER-BONINO TERRITORY
TO THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
The City Council of the City of South San Francisco
does ordain that
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco did, on the ZOth day of May 1957, receive
a written petition from JACK C. HOP~NER and MILDRED E. HORNER,
his wife, and the approval of petition for annexation by L. M.
BONINO, requesting said City of South San Francisco to annex as
uninhabited territory all the real property hereinafter parti-
cularly described, and
WHEREAS, the real property hereinafter particularly
described is the territory sought, in said petition, to be
included within the confines of said City of South San Francisco
and is in fact uninhabited territory and is contiguous to said
City, and
WHEREAS, on the 19th day of August 1957, said City
Council did pass its certain resolution giving notice of the
proposed annexation of the uninhabited territory hereinafter
descrTbed to said City of South San Francisco and did, in said
resolution, fix Monday, the 7th day of October 1957, at the
hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m., and the Council Chambers in the City
Hall of said City of South San Francisco as the time and place'
when and where any persons owning real property within the
territory hereinafter described, and so proposed to be annexed,
and having any objections to the proposed annexation of said
territory may appear before said City Council and show cause
why said territory should not be so annexed, and did, in said
resolution, find that said JACK C. HORNER and MILDRED E. HORNER,
his wife, and L. M. BONINO, are the owners of land comprising
more than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the territory hereinafter
described and representing more tbmn one-fourth (1/4) of the
assessed value of said territory, according to the last preceding
equalized assessment roll of the County of San Mateo; and said
City Council did, in said resolution, direct that the City Clerk
of said City cause a copy of said resolution to be published once
a week for two (2) successive weeks at least twenty (20) days
Prior to the 7th day of October 1957, in the South San Francisco
Enterprise-Journal, a weekly newspaper of general circulation
published in said City of South San Francisco, and in the Advance-
Star, a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated
in the County of San Marco, in which county the territory herein-
before referred to is located, and
WHEREAS, said resolution was published in said South
San Francisco Enterprise-Journal on the following dates: September
5, 195% and September 12, 1957; and in the Advance-Star on the
following dates: September 5, 1957, and September 12, 1957, and
~HEREAS, the aforesaid petitioners, namely, said 3ACK
C. HORNER and MILDRED E. HORN-ER, his wife, and L. M. BONINO, are
the sole owners of all the territory hereinafter particularly
described and, as such, have given and executed their written
consent that the same shall, upon annexation, be subject to taxa-
tion to pay a proportionate share of any and all preexisting
indebtedmessess or liabilities of said City of South San Francisco,
which written consent is presently on file with the Clerk of said
City, and
WHEREAS, the public hearing before referred to has been
held, as required by law, and no person_ ha~ filed or made
written or other protest against the proposed annexation of said
territory, or any part thereof, to said City of South San Francisco,
NOW, THEREFORE, it shall be, and it hereby is, ordered
by the City Council of the said City of South San Francisco as
follows:

Section 1. Said City Council does hereby find and
determine that JACK C. HORNER and MILDRED E. HORNER, his wife,
and L. M. BONINO, are the owners of land comprising more than
one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the territory hereinafter
particularly described and representing more than one-fourth
(1/4) of the assessed value of said territory, according to
the last preceding equalized assessment roll of the County of
San Mateo, and that said land is in fact uninhabited territory
and is contiguous to said City of South San Francisco.
Section 2. Said City Council does here declare that
any and all protests against such proposed annexation shall be,
and they hereby are, overruled. Further, said City Council does
here approve the proposed annexation and, accordingly, does here-
by order that the hereinafter particularly described territory
shall be, and the same hereby is, annexed to the City of South
San Francisco, and that upon being so annexed it shall be known
as HORNER-BONINO TERRITORY, and shall be subject to taxation to
pay a proportionate share of any and all preexisting indebted-
nesses and liabilities of said City°
Said uninhabited territory is situate in the County of
San Mateo, State of California, and is particularly described as
follows:
BEGInnING at the point of intersection of the
City Limits Line of the City of South San
Francisco as established by Ordinance No° 249,
adopted August 19, 1946, with the northwesterly
line of Avalon Drive, as said drive is shown
on that certain Map entitled ~'AVALON PARK NO. 4
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA" which map was
filed in the office of the Recorder of the
County of San Mateo on the 13th day of June,
1956, in Volune 45 of Maps at page 27, said
point of intersection being the most south-
westerly angle point in the City Limits Line
as established by Ordinance No. 368, adopted
July 18, 1955;
Runming thence from said point of beginning on
and along the City Limits Line as established
by said Ordinance No. 368 and along said north-
westerly line of Avalon Drive northeasterly on
the arc of a curve to the right tangent to a
line which bears North 33° 20' 06" East, said
curve havin8 a radius of 230 feet, a central
angle of 17° 23' 57", and an arc length of
69.85 feet; thence~ continuing along said City
Limits Line North 31° 17' 40" West 125.00 feet;
thence, leaving said line, South 58° 42' 20"
West 139.91 feet; thence South 31o 17' 40" East
126.31 feet to a point in the City Limits Line
established by said Ordinance No.249} thence
along said City Limits Line North 53° 00' East
31.74 feet and North 86° 20' East 47.03 feet to
the point of beginning.
CONTAINING 0.422 acre,=of land, more or less,
and
Section 3o This ordinance shall be published once,
and shall take effect and be in force from and after the expira-
tion of thrity (30) days following its adoption.
Imtroduced this 18th day of November 1957.
Passed and adopted as an ordinance of the City of
South San Francisco at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of South San Francisco this 2nd day of
December 1957, by the following vote:
