REGULAR PLANNING COMMISSION
CALL TO ORDER / PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

CHAIR COMMENTS
Chairperson Romero congratulated Commissioner Giusti for her appointment to the Planning Commission and
Commissioner Meloni for being reappointed to the Planning Commission.
Commissioner Meloni also congratulated Chairperson Romero and Commissioner Giusti.
PRESENTATIONS
Resolution commending Joe D' Angelo for his service on the Planning Commission.
Given
Joseph D' Angelo thanked each Commissioner for a wealth ofleaming. He thanked Commissioner Meloni for his
sage counsel and experience; Commissioner Sim for challenging developers to produce high-quality architecture;
Commissioner Honan for her concern with the community; Chairperson Romero for detailed investigation; Vice
Chairperson Ochsenhirt for his persistence and attention to detail; and Commissioner Teglia for his patience,
aspirations, willingness to teach him and for his broad knowledge. He also thanked the Commission for the work
well done.
PLANNING COMMISSION REORGANIZATION
Assistant City Attorney Johnson noted that the procedure for the reorganization would be to open nominations,
then close them and vote. There would not be any secret ballots and there does not need to be a second on the
motion.
Nominations were opened for Chairperson.
Commissioner Meloni nominated Commissioner Teglia
Commissioner Sim nominated Chairperson Romero.
Motion Meloni / Second Sim to close the nominations. Motion passed by unanimous voice vote.
Joseph D' Angelo, 310 Evergreen, noted that all Commissioners are equal and serve at the pleasure of the City
Council and the City of South San Francisco and each Commissioner should have the opportunity to hold the
position of Chair. He noted that each Commissioner makes important decisions that will impact the City's future.

He concluded that all Commission should be treated with fairness and correctness. He noted that the selection of a
new chair should be based on fairness, good judgment and willingness to serve.
Chairperson Romero was re-elected to a second term by a 4-2 vote with one Commissioner not voting.
Nominations were opened for Vice-Chairperson.
Chairperson Romero nominated Vice Chairperson Ochsenhirt.
Commissioner Meloni nominated Commissioner Teglia.
Motion Sim / Second Honan to close nominations. Motion passed by unanimous voice vote.
Vice Chairperson Ochsenhirt was re-elected to a second term by a 4-2 vote with one Commissioner not voting.
