AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ANNEXATION
OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
DESIGNATED "CALLAN PARK" TO THE CITY
OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO:
WHEREAS, on the 23rd day of January 1961, the
Council of the Ci=y of South San Francisco did pass and
adop= Resolution No. 3130 giving notice of the proposal to
annex certain uninhabited territory to the City of South
San Francisco, said territory being therein designated as
Callan Park, said Resolution describing the boundaries
of the territory proposed to be annexed, and
WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 3130 did contain a
notice of the day, hour and place when and where the Council
of the City would hear protests made by any person owning
real property within the territory proposed to be annexed,
the time of said hearing being not less than forty (40)
nor more than sixty (60) days from =he date of passage of
said Resolution, and
WHEREAS, on the 6th day of March 1961, at the hour
of 8:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the
City of South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of
California, said time and place being the day, hour and
place fixed in said Resolution No. 3130 for hearing p~ests~
to the said annexation, the said City Council did at said
hearing hear protests made to the proposed annexation and
did continue said hearing to the 20th day of March 1961
at the hour of 8:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers in the
City Hall and the said City Council did complete the hear-
ing and did pass upon all protests made to the proposed
annexation and did determine that protests had not been
made by the owners of one-half of the value of the pri-
vately owned territory proposed to be annexed as shown by
the last equalized assessment roll, nor by public owners of
one-half of the val~e of the publicly owned territory pro-
posed to be annexed as determined by said legislative body,
and
WMEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City
of South San Francisco and is uninhabited territory in the
County of San Mateo, State of California, and
WI~EREAS, the owners of said territory have given
and executed their written consent as provided by law that
the property within the annexed territory shall upon annexa-
tion be taxed and subject to taxation to pay any indebtedness
or liability of the City of South San Francisco contracted
prior to or existing at the time of annexation on the same
basis as property is taxed throughout said City, which
written consent is presently on file with the City Clerk of
said City.
NOW, THEREFORE, the said Council of the City of
South San Francisco does hereby approve the annexation of
The territory hereinafter described to the City of South
San Francisco, and does hereby further ordain that the
said territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of
South San Francisco and is designated Callan Park.
That said territory, the annexation of which to
the City of South San Francisco is herein approved, is all
that territory situate in the County of San Mateo, State
of California, more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at an angle point in the westerly cor-
porate limit line of the City of South San Francisco
which point is the intersection of the easterly line
of Junipero Serra Boulevard as described in Deed from
Jersey Farm Company to Joint Highway District No. 10,
recorded July 26, 1939 in Book 835 of Official Records
at Page 90, San Mateo County Records with the easterly
prolongation of the northerly boundary line of that
certain Map entitled "ROLLINGWOOD NO. 3, SAN BRUNO, SAN
MATEO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA", recorded August 12, 1955 in
Volume 43 of Maps at Pages 16, 17, 18 and 19, San Mateo
County Records; running thence along said westerly cor-
porate limit line of the City of South San Francisco
and the easterly line of said Junipero Serra Boulevard,
North 20° 22' West 582.67 feet; on the arc of a curve
to the left, tangent to the last preceding course, with
a radius of 4076 feet, subtending a central angle of
30° 46' 36", an arc distance of 2,189.44 feet; thence
leaving said corporate limit line of the City of South
San Francisco and crossing said Junipero Serra Boulevard,
South 38° 51' 24" West 152.00 feet; on the arc of a
curve to the left, from a tangent bearing North 51° 08'
36" West, with a radius of 3,924 feet, subtending a
central angel of 1° 19' 24", an arc distance of 90.63
feet; North 52° 28' West 638.87 feet; on the arc of a curve
to the right, tangent to the last preceding course, with
a radius of 3,076 feet, subtending a central angle of
29° 46' 19", an arc distance of 1,598.35 feet; westerly
on the arc of a curve to the right, froma tan nt bear-
lng South 69° 10' 40" West, withoa radius of ~1 f~et,
subtending a central angle of 91 52' 20", an arc dis-
tance of 322.30 feet; North 18O 57' West 375.68 feet
to a point on the centerline of the northerly branch of
Twelve-Mile Creek and the northeasterly line of that cer-
tain 117.80 acre Parcel, partitioned to Emily Tracy in
the Original Decree of Distribution of the B~ncho Buri
Burl, as filed in Book 10 of Deeds at Page 1, San Mateo
County Records: thence alon~ the northerly line of said
117.80 acre Parcel, Nort5 5To 56' West 669.82 feet and
North 88° 06' West 396.00 feet to the northwesterly cor-
ner thereof, and the northeasterly corner of that certain
42.77 acre Parcel partitioned to A. I. Easton in said
Decree of Distribution of the Rancho Burl Burl; thence
along the northerly line of said 42.77 acre Parcel,
South 79° 30' West 462.00 feet; North 63° 30' West
838.20 feet and South 66° 15' West 777.48 feet to the
northwesterly corner thereof, and a point in the north-
easterly line of that certain 94.91 acre Parcel of land
partitioned to John Brooks in said Decree of Distribution
of the Rancho Burl Burl; thence along the northeasterly
an~ northwesterly line of said 94.91 acre Parcel, South
66 00' West 328.96 feet; North 83° 0' West 256.63 feet;
North 55° 30' West 380.16 feet; South 89° 30' West 999.90
feet; North 57° 45' West 410.69 feet and South 45° West
973.40 feet to the northwesterly corner of the said 94.91
acre Parcel, and~.point in the northeasterly boundary line
of the City of Pacifica, as described in "Affidavit of
County Clerk Relating to the Incorporation of the City of
Pacifica as a General Law City", filed in the Office of
the County Recorder of the County of San Mat,o, State of
California, on November 22, 1957, File Number 99677 P;
running thence along said Pacifica boundary line and the
westerly line of said 94.91 acre Parcel, South 18° 15'
East 935.98 feet to the southwesterly corner thereof and
the northwesterly corner of the Francis Cunningham 165.09
acre Parcel as described in said decree of partition;
thence along the westerly line of said 165.09 acre Parcel,
South 27° 56' East 908.59 feet to the intersection thereof
with the easterly line of Skyline. Boulevard Road IV SM 55
A, as described in Deed from Ansel Easton to the State of
California, filed in Volume 52 of Official Records at
page 284, San Marco County Records; thence South 63° 35'
West 40.00 feet to a point on the centerline of said Sky-
line Boulevard at Engineer's Station 287 ~ 84.72; thence
continuing along the easteriy corporate limit line of
said City of Pacifica and the centerline of said Skyline
Boulevard, South 36° 25' East 2,407.17 feet to the inter-
section thereof with the southerly line of the aforesaid
Francis Cunningham 165.09 acre Parcel at Engineer's Sta-
tion 311 ~ 91.89 of the centerline of said Skyline
Boulevard, said Point being also a point in the north-
westerly corporate limit line of the City of San Bruno,
as annexed July 11, 1956 by Ordinance Number 688 and
certified by the Secretary of State on February 25, 1957;
thence leaving said corporate limit line of the City of
Pacifica and running along said San Bruno corporate limit
line and the southerly line of said 165.09 acre Parcel,
North 67° 42' East 1,636.31 feet to the northwesterly
corner of that certain Parcel of land containing 24,4679
acres of land conveyed by Western Slope Land Corporation,
a corporation, to Ray S. E. Button by Deed dated March
30, 1955, recorded May 13, 1955 in Volume 2796 of Offi-
cial Records at Page 533, San Marco County Records,
(50670M) and the northeasterly corner of that certain
Parcel of land conveyed by California Pacific Title In-
aurance Company, a corporation, to Stoneson Development
Corporation, a corporation, by Deed dated September 25,
1958, recorded September 29, 1958 in Volum~ 3465 of
Official Records of San Marco County at Page 214 (79019Q);
thence along the dividing line between the last two Par-
cels referred to, South 56° 02' 46" East 2,608.59 feet
to the most southerly corner of said 24~4679 acre Parcel;
thence continuing along the easterly line of the afore-
said lands conveyed to Stoneson Development Corporation
South 55° 28' 22" East 865.78 feet; South 75o 51' 23"
East 62.59 feet and North 89° 08' 17" East 98.19 feet to
an angle point in the northerly boundary line of that
certain Map entitled "ROLLINGWOOD NO. 3, SAN BRUNO, SAN
MATEO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA", recorded August 12, 1955 in
Volume 43 of Maps at pages 16, 17, 18 and 19, San Marco
County Records; running thence along the northerly line
of said Map of Rollingwood No. 3, North 89° 07' 53" East
90.73 feet to the southwesteziy corner of tb~t certain
9.050 acre Parcel conveyed by Deed from Ray S. E. Button
to San Bruno Park School District and Elementary School
District of the County of San Mateo, State of California,
dated December 18, 1959 and recorded December 22, 1959
in Book 3724 of Official Records at Page 516, San Marco
County Records; thence leaving said San Bruno corporate
limit line and following the exterior boundary of said
9.050 acre Parcel of land, North 103.82 feet; East 125.00
feet; North 60.00 feet; North 6° 19' 21" East 90.89 feet;
North 33° 37' 53" East 88.77 feet; North 40° 20' 52"
East 115.79 feet; North 26° 33' 16" East 126.29 feet;
North 16° 03' 23" East 110.17 feet; South 72° 24' 41"
East 687.89 feet and South 31° 07' 58" West 535.00 feet
to a point in the aforesaid northerly line of Rollingwood
No. 3 and the northerly corporate limit line of the City
of San Bruno; thence along said line, South 64° 52' 02"
East 540.08 feet; North 55° 26' 44" East 357.88 feet and
North 55° 23' 27" East 1,198.54 feet to the POINT OF
BEGINNING,

Passed and adopted as an ordinance of the City of South
San Francisco at a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of South San Francisco this 3rd day of
April, 1961 , by the following vote:
