ORDINANCE NO. 506
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED "VALLEY PARK
CENTER ANNEXATION~' TO THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRAN-
CISCO
BE IT ORDAINED BY the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco:
WHEREAS, on the 6~h~ day of April , 1964 , the Coun-
cil of the City of South San Francisco did pass and adopt Reso-
lution No. 3899 giving notice of the proposal to annex certain
uninhabited territory to the City of South San Francisco, said
territory being therein designated as "Valley Park Center Annex-
ation", said Resolution describing the boundaries of the territory
proposed to be annexed, and,
WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 3899 did contain a notice of
the day, hour and place when and where the Council of the City
would hear protests made by any person owning real property with-
in the territory proposed to be annexed, the time of said hearing
being not less than forty (40) nor more than sixty (60) days
from the date of passage of said Resolution, and,
WHEREAS, os the 18th day of May , 1964 , at the
hour of 8:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the
City of South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of Calif-
ornia, said time and place being the day, hour and place fixed in

said Resolution No.3899 for hearing protests to said annex-
ation, the said City Council did hear and pass upon all protests
made to the proposed annexation and did determine that protests
had not been made by the owners of one-half of the value of the
privately owned territory proposed to be annexed as shown by
the last equalized assessment roll, nor by public owners of one-
half of the value of the publicly owned territory proposed to be
annexed as determined by said legislative'body, and,
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of South
San Francisco and is uninhabited territory in the County of San
Mateo, State of California, and,
WHEREAS, the owners of said territory have given and executed
their written consent as provided by law that the property within
the annexed territory shall upon annexation be taxed and subject
to taxation to pay any indebtedness or liability of the City of
South San Francisco contracted prior to or existing at the time
of annexation on the same basis as property is taxed throughout
said City, which written consent is presently on file with the
City Clerk of said City.
NOW, THEREFORE, said City Council of the City of South San
Francisco does hereby approve the annexation of the territory here-
inafter described to the City of South San Francisco, and does
hereby further ordain that the said territory be, and it hereby
is, annexed to the City of South San Francisco and is designated
"Valley Park Center Annexation", and that said territory, the
annexation of which to the City of South San Francisco is herein
approved, is all that territory situate in the County of San
Mateo, State of California, more particularly described as follows:

This area lying between Mission Road on the north, E1
Camtno Real on the south, Oak Avenue extension on the east
and Treasure Island Motel and Trailer Court property on the
west°
BEGINNING at a point in the corporate l~mtts of the City of
South San Francisco as said limits were established by that certain
resolution and order dated August 17, 1908, declaring said City
incorporated, sald point also being the intersection of the south-
westerly prolongation of the southerly line of Oak Avenue with the
southwesterly right-of-way line of Mission Road referred to in said
incorporation as the "westerly line of the main County Road leading
fro~ San Francisco to Sa~ Jose"; thence from said point of beginning
northwesterly along said corporate l~units and said southwesterly
line of Mission Road, 1150 feet, more or less, to the Intersection
thereof with the northwesterly line of that certain tract of land
described in Deed fro~ Spring Valley Water Company to the City and
County of San Francisco (Parcel 21) recorded March 3, 1930, in Voltuae
491 of Official Records of San Marco County at page 1; thence leaving
said corporate 1Lmits southwesterly, South 40° 26' West (called North
40° 46t East in said Deed), along the northwesterly line of said
Parcel 21, 240 feet, more or less, to the intersection thereof with
the northerly right-of-way line of the Southern Pacific Railroad
C~pany, and the westerly corner of said Parcel 21; thence North
30° 08~ West 28.0 feet, more or less, across a road easement; thence
continuing along the Southern Pacific l~ailroad Company right-
of-way on the same bearing North 30° 08' West, 1G4.0 feet to a
point; thence turning and proceeding northeasterly~ North 54° 34'
East for a distance of 67.5 feet to a point; thence turning and
proceeding in a northwesterly direction North 46° 50~ West 79.0
feet to a point; thence North 15° 28~ '~est, 23 feet to a point;
thence North 49° 15' West, 30 feet to a point; thence North
76° 20' West~ 24 feet to a point; thence turning and proceeding
in a northwesterly direction North 46° 32' West, 210 feet to a
point; thence North 40° 12' West, 180 feet to a point; thence
North 42° 16' West, 150 feet to a point; thence North 44° 13'

and 113.0 feet to a point (all of the distances and bearings from
the westerly corner of Parcel 21 having been on the northerly
right-of-way line of the Southern Pacific Railroad); thence turning
and proceeding in a northeasterly direction North 40° 31' East,
92.5 feet, alon~; the easterly line of the Pacific Gas ~ Electric
Co. property to a point which is the northeasterly corner of the
property owned in fee by the l~acific Gas ~ Electric Coo and which
is also the southerly property line of ~lisslon Road; thence turn-
ing and proceeding in a northwesterly direction along the South
San Francisco city limits line (llission Road southerly right-of-

the northwesterly corner of the Pacific Gas & Electric Co. property;
thence turning and proceeding in a southwesterly direction South

the Pacific Gas ~ Electric Co. property to a point, which is on
the Southern Pacific Railroad Co. northerly right-of-way

the Devincenzi Annexation to the City of South San Francisco,
Ordinance No. 496, February 3, 1964, to a point, which is the
southwesterly corner of the Devincenzi property; thence turning and
proceeding in a northeasterly direction, North 42° 36t Emt, 146.52
feet to a point on the present southerly right-of-way li~e of
Mission Road and on the city l~nits line; thence turning and pro-
eeeding in a northwesterly direction North 49° 09' West for a
distance of 573 feet, more or less, along the present city limits
of the City of South San Francisco (and the southerly ri~ht-of-way
line of Mission Road) to a point; thence continuing along a line
having the same bearing as the previous course (North 49° 09' ~est)
along the southerly right-of-way line of Mission Road which line
is the city limit line of the Town of Colma as annexed by Ordinance
No. 88 on June 12, 1957, a distance of 206 feet more or less to a
point; thence turning and proceeding in a southwesterly direction
275 feet, more or less, along the city limit line of the Town of
Colma~ to the southerly right-of-way line of the old ~arket Street
Railway; thence turning and proceeding in a northwesterly direction
for a distance of 545 feet, mere or less, along the city limit line
of the Town of Colma to the northeasterly corner of the Treasure
Island Motel and Trailer Court Incorporated property which was
annexed to the City of South San Francisco by Ordinance No. 299 on

thence leaving the northerly right-of-way line of E1 Ca~ln~ Real
and proceeding northeasterly along the city l~mit line of South San
Francisco established by Ordinance No. 209 on August 26, 1940,
North 53° 12~ East, 420 feet, more or less, along the prolongation
of the southerly line of Oak Avenue, to a point on the southerly
right-of-way line of ~lission Road and the city limit line of City
of South San Francisco which is the point of beginning; and contain-
ing 71 Acres, more or less.

Passed and adopted as an ordinance of the City of South
San Francisco at an adjourned remular meeting of
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco this 15th
day of Jul~ , 196~ , by the following vote:
