AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING ENTRY FOR
PURPOSES OF INSPECTION AND ENFORCEMENT.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. ENTRY AUTHORIZED; NOTICE; WARRANT.
Whenever necessary to make an inspection to enforce any
ordinance or resolution, or whenever there is reasonable cause
to believe there exists an ordinance or resolution violation
in any building or upon any premises within the jurisdiction
of the city, any authorized official of the City of South San
Francisco may, upon presentation of proper credentials, enter
such building or premises at all reasonable times, to inspect
the same or to perform any duty imposed upon him by ordinance;
PROVIDED, that except in emergency situations or when consent
of the owner and/or occupant to the inspection has been other-
wise obtained, he shall give the owner and/or occupant~ if they
be located after reasonable effort, twenty-four hours written
notice of the authorized official's intention to inspect. The
notice transmitted to the owner and/or occupant shall state
that the property owner has the right to refuse entry and that
in the event such entry is refused, inspection may be made only
upon issuance of a search warrant by a duly authorized magis-
trate. In the event the owner and/or occupant refuses entry
after such request has been made, the official is hereby empowered
to seek assistance from any court of competent jurisdiction in
obtaining such entry.
SECTION 2. REPEAL 0F ORDINANCE SECTIONS.
Sections of ordinances authorizing entry for purposes of
inspection and/or enforcement, including but not limited to
those sections specified below are hereby repealed:
Section 14 of the Electrical Code adopted by Ordinance
507 passed July 20, 1964.
Section IV of Ordinance 564 passed July 17, 1967.
Section 201-C of Ordinance $72 passed February $, 1968.
Subsection 1.$ of Section II of Ordinance 573 passed
February 5, 196 8.
Section 202(d), Subsections 1, 2 and 3 of Ordinance
574 passed February 5, 1968.
Section !. 3 of the Fire Prevention Cod6 adopted by
Ordinance 601 passed February 2, 1970.
SECTION 3. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
This Ordinance shall be published once in the Enterprise-
Journal, _a newspaper_ of. general_ _circulationi_~n__ the_ C%_ty_ of
South San Francisco, as required by law, and shall become
effective thirty (30) days from and after its adoption.

San Francisco at a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of South 'San Francisco this 4th day of
