AN ORDINANCE AMENDING PERSONNEL
ORDINANCE NO. 449, AS'AMENDED
ADDING SUB-SECTION C TO 11
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I.
DESIGNATION OF SUB-SECTIONS OF SECTION 11.
The sub-sections of Section ]1, Ordinance No. 449,passed
March 21, 1960, as amended are hereby designated successively (a)
and (b). The designation of sub-sections and the adoption of -this
amending ordinance shall not affect the operation of said sub-
sections, the effective date and operativ~ dates thereof remaining
as of the effective date of Ordinance 449.
SECTION II. ADDITION OF SUB-SECTION (C)
Section 11 of Ordinance No. 449, passed March 21, 1960,
as amended is hereby further amended to add sub-section (c) which
reads as follows:

Employees serving in the full-time positions
described below on January 1, 1974, the effec-
tive date of this sub-section, shall be deemed
so appointed in the competitive service as
probationary employees, unless the employee
fails to file an acceptance with the City Manager
within thirty days after said effective date, in
which event the appointment shall be deemed
rejected. The City Manager shall confirm said
employees' status, determine applicable pay and
other benefits, and make -the necessary orders
therefor.

Ail employees in division head positions
or subordinate positions except: 'the City
Manager's secretary, City Manager's assis-
tants, police detective, motorcycIe officers,
po] ice training officers, poIice cadets,
police technician, records and communications
supervisor, fire marshal and Deputy City
Clerk.
SECTION III. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
This Ordinance shall be published once in the Enterprise-
Journal, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of South
San Francisco, as required by law, and shall become effective thirty
(30) days from and after its adoption.'
