Please note that due to the COVID-19 outbreak, theLibraryBoard of Trustees Meetingwill be
conductedby teleconference only pursuant tothe provisions of the Governor’sExecutiveOrder’s N-25-
20 andN-29-20issued on March 17, 2020 allowing for deviation of teleconference rules required by the
Brown Act andpursuant to the order of the Health Officer of San Mateo County dated March 31, 2020.
You are invited to offer your suggestions. In order that you may know our method of conducting
Library business, wewillproceed as follows:
The regular meetings of the Library Board of Trustees are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at
6:00 P.M.

a)Both South San Francisco Public Library locations have suspended walk-in services to
minimize in-person contact due to COVID19.We are providing Curbside Pickup
Services; book drops are open. The Main Library Self-Service Lobby isnow available to
patrons on Mondays and Tuesdays, 2:00 –5:00 PM and Saturdays, 11:00 AM –2:00 PM.

The meeting was called to order at 6:00P.M. via Teleconference meeting (Zoom).

OLDBUSINESS
New Main Library and Parks & Recreation Community Center Project Update
Furniture, fixtures and equipment phase is still in process for the project.A digital sign is also
being designed to be placed next to the new building to draw in the community. City staff is
currently working with Genentech and Amgen on naming opportunities for their donations. The
project website will be updated with new building pictures.
Library Reopening Plans –Adam Elsholz, Assistant Library Director
San Mateo County has moved into the orangetier. Library staff is now eligible to receive
thCOVIDvaccinations. Beginning Monday, April 5, the Library will reopen but with limited
access to the community. The lobby will be available for Library patrons to browse and pickup
holdsat the Main Library. Full browsing is tentatively scheduled for the month of May, The
Community Learning Center Computer Lab is open, by appointment, for essential uses.

Out of School Program –Karla Bourdon, Literacy Services Manager & Mary Ann Cordova,
Literacy Services Coordinator
Literacy Services Manager, Karla Bourdon, and Literacy Services Coordinator, Mary Ann
Cordova, presentedon the Out of School Program ran from the Community Learning Center.
The Library Board of Trustees viewed the Out of School program video orientation for parents.
Currently, the program holds a total of 40 students in order to comply with CDC COVID-19
safety regulations.

NewCommunity Civic Center Campus Update; COVID-19 Response and Recovery Plans.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
In observance of Easter, there will be no Library phone, email or curbside pickup services on
thSunday, April 4.
The South San Francisco Public Library Book Club meets virtually via Zoom on the third
Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM. The Aprilselection is The Sun Also Rises by Ernest
Hemingway. Please email [email protected] the Zoom link.
A proclamation will be presented in honor of National Library Week at the City Council meeting
on Wednesday, March 24th
