AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING BONDS REQUIRED OF
OFFICERS OR EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO AND REPEALING ORDINANCE 1,
ADOPTED OCTOBER 5, 1908.
THE CITY COUNCIL. OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. PURPOSE. This ordinance sets forth the bonds required of
officers and ~nployees of the City of South San Francisco.
SECTION II. CITY TREASURER. The City Treasurer shall execute a bond
to the Ci,ty before entering upon the duties of his office and said bond
shall conform to the provisions of the Government Code relating to bonds of
public officers. The penal sum of the bond shall be in a reasonable amount
recommended by the City Attorney and fixed by the City Council by resolution,
but not less than Seven Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($750,000) and may
be changed during the officer's term of office.
SECTION III. BONDS OF OTHER OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES. The following
officers and employees shall execute bonds to the City and said bonds shall
conform to the provisions of the Government Code relating to bonds of pub-
lic officers and employees. The penal sum of the bonds shall be in a reason-
able amount recommended by the City Attorney and fixed by the City Council
by resolution, but not less than the sums set forth below:

SECTION IV, APPROVAL OF BONDS. Cit~ Council shall approve all bonds
and when approved, the bonds shall be filed with the City Clerk.
SECTION V. APPLICATION OF LAWS RELATING TO OFFICIAL BONDS. Except
as provided, all laws related to the official bonds of officers and employees
apply to bonds required by this Ordinance.
SECTION VI. REPEAL OF ORDINANCE I ADOPTED OCTOBER 5, 1908. Ordinance
No. 1, adopted October 5, 1908, entitled "An Ordinance Fixing the Penal
Sum of the Official Bonds Required of and To Be Executed by the Clerk, Trea-
surer and Marshal of the City of South San Francisco," is hereby repealed.
SECTION VII. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall be
published once in the Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper of general circula-
tion in the City of South San Francisco, as required by law, and shall become
effective thirty (30) days from and after its adoption.
