HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 57-2006 RESOLUTION NO. 57-2006 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AWARDING A BID TO SIERRA CHEMICAL COMPANY FOR THE PURCHASE OF SODIUM BISULFITE SOLUTION IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $226,000 WHEREAS, staff recommends the purchase of sodium bisulfite solution frOlTI the lowest responsible bidder, Sierra Chemical C OlTIp any, in an amount of $0.6347 per gallon; and WHEREAS, the sodium bisulfite is used to process the effluent prior to its discharge to the bay to remove chlorine in accordance with the Regional Water Quality Control Board; and WHEREAS, the Water Quality Control Plant's (WQCP's) budget is funded through the Sewer Enterprise Fund 71; and WHEREAS, the WQCP's budget for fiscal year 2006-2007 has an allocation of $226,000 for the purchase of the sodium bisulfite; and WHEREAS, South San Francisco's share of the cost is (38.1%) at $86,132; San Bruno's share is (18.90/0) at $42,809, BurlingatTIe's share (25.8%) at $58,364, Millbrae's share (9.6%) at $21,726, and San Francisco Airport's share (7.5%) at $16,969. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby awards a bid to Sierra ChelTIical Company for the purchase of sodium bisulfite solution in an atTIount not to exceed $226,000. * * * * * I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 26th day of July 2006 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark N.
