THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDIAN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. AMENDMENT TO SECTION 6. Section 6 of Ordinance No. 449,
adopted the 21st day of March, 1960, entitled "An Ordinance of the City of
South San Francisco. Recreating and Re-Establishing a Personnel System for the
City of South San Francisco and Repealing Ordinince No. 216 and All Inconsistent
Ordinances," as amended, is hereby amended to read:
SECTION 6. COMPETITIVE SERVICE.
A. The following positions or offices shall be in the competitive service.
The City Council may add positions or offices to the competitive servi'ce by
amending this Section:

SECTION 2. PUBLICATION. Pursuant to the provisions of Government
Codes § 36933 (revised by Chapter 850, Statutes of 1978), a Summary of this
Ordinance'shall be prepared by the City Attorney. At least five (5) days prior
to the Council meeting at which this Ordinance is scheduled to be adopted, the
City Clerk shall (1) publish the Summary and (2) post in the City Clerk's Office
a certified copy of this Ordinance. Within fifteen (15) days after adoption of
this Ordinance, the City Clerk shall (1) publish the Summary and (2) post in the
City Clerk's Office a certified copy of the full text of this Ordinance along with
the names of those City Council Members voting for and against this Ordinance or
otherwi se voting.
SECTION 3. EFFECTIVE'DATE.
(30) days from and after its adoption.

FRANCISCO PERSONNEL ORDINANCE) ADDING
A CLASSIFICATION
1. SUMMARY. The Ordinance will make the following changes in Section
6 of Ordinance No. 449 adopted March 21, 1960, as amended, (South San
Francisco Personnel Ordinance):
(a) Classification Added. The classification of Apprentice
Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator will be added.
2. CERTIFICATION AND POSTING PRIOR TO ADOPTION. A certified copy of
the full text of this Ordinance is posted in the Office of the City Clerk,
City Hall, South San Francisco, California. The Ordinance was read for the
first time on the 16th day of April , 1980, and is scheduled for
second reading and adoption on the ?th day of May , 1980.
