THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDIAN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. AMENDMENT TO SECTION 6. Section 6 of Ordinance No. 449,
adopted the 21st day of March, 1960, entitled "An Ordinance of the City' of
South San Francisco Recreating and Re-Establishing a Personnel System for the
City of South San Francisco and Repealing Ordinince No. 216 and All Inconsistent
Ordinances," as amended, is hereby amended to read:
SECTION 6. COMPETITIVE SERVICE.
A. The following positions or offices shall be in the competitive service.
The City_COuncil may add positions or offices to the competitive service by
amending this Section:

SECTION 2. PUBLICATION. Pursuant to the provisions of Government
Codes § 36933 (revised by Chapter 850, Statutes of 1978), a Summary of this
Ordinance shall be prepared by the City Attorney. At least five (5) days prior
to the Council meeting at which this Ordinance is scheduled to be adopted, the
City Clerk shall (1) publish the Summary and (2) post in the City Clerk's Office
a certified copy of this Ordinance. Within fifteen (15) days after adoption of
this Ordinance, the City Clerk shall (1) publish the Summary and (2) post in the
City Clerk's Office a certified copy of the full text of this Ordinance along with
the names of those City Council Members voting for and against this Ordinance or
otherwise voting.
SECTION 3. EFFECTIVE'DATE. This Ordinance shall become effective thirty
(30) days from and after its adoption.

FRANCISCO PERSONNEL ORDINANCE) ADDING
A CLASSIFICATION AND MODIFYING THE
TITLE AND SPECIFICATIONS OF TWO
CLASSIFICATIONS
1. SUMMARY. The Ordinance will make the following changes in Section
6 of Ordinance No. 449 adopted March 21, 1960, as amended (South San Francisco
Personnel Ordinance):
(a) Classification Added. The classification of Building Maintenance
Custodian will be added.
(b) Title and Specifications Modification. The title and specifica-
tions for the following positions will be modified: Maintenance Worker I,
Building Maintenance to Building Maintenance Worker, and Maintenance Worker II,
Building Maintenance to Senior Building Maintenance Worker.
2. CERTIFICATION AND POSTING PRIOR TO ADOPTION. A certified copy of
the full text of this Ordinance is posted in the Office of the City Clerk, City
Hall, South San Francisco, California. The Ordinance was read for the first
time on the 18th day of June , 1980, and is scheduled for second
reading and adoption on the 2nd day of July , 1980.

3. CERTIFICATION AND POSTING AFTER ADOPTION. This Ordinance was
adopted on the 2nd day of Juls' , 1980, and a certified copy
of the full text, together with the names of the Councilmembers voting for and
against the Ordinance or otherwise voting, is posted in the Office of the City
Clerk.
4. This Ordinance Summary was prepared pursuant to Government Code
§ 36933 (revised by Chapter 850, Statutes of 1978). The City Council ordered
preparation of this Ordinance Summary by the City Attorney.
