AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO. 661 ADOPTED APRIL l, 1974,
AS AMENDED, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE
REGULATING WASTE DISCHARGES"
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS: ~
SECTION 1. AMENDMENT OF SECTION 7.1
Section 7.1 of Ordinance No. 661 adopted April 1, 1974, as amended,
entitled "An Ordinance Regulating Waste Discharges'' is hereby amended to read:
7.1 Sewer Connection Fees.
A connection charge shall be paid by the discharger or parcel
owner for connection to a public sanitary sewer or appurten-
ance thereof and for change in class or subclass of an exist-
ing c~:ecti~as shown in the following schedule. If there
is an existing connection for a residential class and additional
dwelling units are made, the connection charge for the addi-
tional units shall be paid as shown in the following schedule.
If there is an existing connection for an institutional, commer-
cial or industrial class and additional fixture units are made,
the connection charge for the additional fixture units shall
be paid as shown in the following s6hedUle:

*Fixture units shall be determined by the Building Inspector in accordance
with the Uniform Plumbing Code adopted by the City of South San Francisco
and then in effect, Fixtures include but are not limited to kitchen
sinks, bathtub~'wat~closets, washbasins, laundr~'~ubs, urinals, cellar
drains, grinders, garage drains, floor drains.
SECTION 2. URGENCY MEASURE
This Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure adopted pursuant to
the provisions of Government Code Section 36937 in that (a) it relates to
sewer connection fees for connections to be made in the City for fiscal year
1980-81, and (b) is for the immediate preservation of public peace, health
and safety because it provides for the'necessary funds to preserve the City's
sewer system in operating condition in view of imminent increased load upon
that system due to projected development in fiscal year 1980J81.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be published once as required by law
in the Enterprise Journal, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of
South San Francisco, and shall take effect as an urgency measure immediately
upon its adoption.

at a ~gUlar meeting of the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco this 16th day of July , 1980, by the following
vote:
