AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 763, EN-
TITLED "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING REGULATIONS
FOR TOW CAR SERVICES AND RELATED MATTERS"
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. AMENDMENT OF SECTIONS 4, 17 AND 18 OF ORDINANCE NO. 763.
Sections 4, 17 and 18 of Ordinance No. 763, adopted May 17, 1978, en-
titled "An Ordinance Establishing Regulations for Tow Car Services and Related
Matters," are hereby amended to read as fol lows:
SECTION 4. TOW CAR PERMIT AND BUSINESS LICENSE REQUIRED.
No tow car operator shall engage in business within the City
of South San Francisco or offer such services within the City without
first obtaining a permit from the Chief of Police, as hereinafter pro-
vided, and then obtaining a business license from the Finance Depart-
ment. Permit shall be issued for a period not exceeding one (1) year.
SECTION 17. PENALTIES.
Any person violating a provision of this Ordinance or failing
to comply with a mandatory requirement of this Ordinance shall be guilty
of an infraction and upon conviction such person shall be punished as
provided in Section 36900 of the Government Code.
SECTION 18. SEVERABILITY.
If any section, subsection, phrase or clause of this Ordinance
is for any reason held to be unconstitutional, such decision shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance. The
City Council hereby declares that it would have passed this Ordinance
and each section, subsection, phrase and clause thereof irrespective
of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, clauses or

phrases be declared unconstitutional.
SECTION 2. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
This Ordinance shall be published once in the Enterprise-Journal, a
newspaper of general circulation in the City of South San Francisco, as re-
quired by law, and shall become effective thirty (30) days from and after its
adoption.

at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Fran-
cisco this 19th day of November , 1980, by the following vote:
