pursuant to the provisions of the Governor’s Executive Order N29-20 issued on March 17, 2020 allowing for
deviation of teleconference rules required by the Brown Act and pursuant to the Order of the Health Officer of
San Mateo County dated March 31, 2020.

Chair Comments: None
Agenda Review: Secretary Espiritu noted an update to the Every Kid
Deserves a Bike Program to be mentioned after Agenda
Items.
Public Participation: Chris Florkowski, Anthony Montes
Public Comments: Comment received from Anthony Montes, SVBC Regarding
support for the Active South City Plan. Announcement that
the Every Kid Deserves a Bike Program has been nominated
for Program of the Year. Winners shall be awarded at the
2022 Silicon Valley Bike Summit Awards.

Comment from Chris Florkowski regarding parking issues on
Spruce Street and if the Martin Elementary School Project
would address those issues.
CONSENT CALENDAR
1. Approval of Minutes: Approved 5-0-1 (May 4, 2022); Commissioner Thagavis was absent,
Chair McAuley abstains.
ADMINISTRATIVE BUSINESS
2. Active South City Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan (INFORMATIONAL)
Secretary Espiritu provided an update to BPAC and announced availability of the “Final”
Active South City Plan (See activesouthcity.com). Planning Commission hearing is
scheduled for July 7, 2022, and a BPAC member is requested to attend and speak about
the Plan. Chair McAuley shall attend with Committee Member Gore as an alternate. BPAC
Members shall vote to prepare a Letter of Support recommending approval to City Council.
Planning Staff to assist preparation of the Letter of Support.
ACTION: 6-0-1 (Committee Member Thagavis was absent)
3. OBAG 3 Grant Application Martin Elementary SRTS
Thank you to BPAC members who provided Engineering/Public Works Staff with a signed
Letter of Support for the One Bay Area Grand Cycle 3 grant application. The project
includes immediate safety improvements around Martin Elementary School and in
coordination with the Safe Routes to School Program.
ACTION: None taken, none required
4. COMMITTEE COMMENTS
• BPAC Members asked for an update regarding South Airport Boulevard and Belle Air Road and
eliminating the NB left turn lane. Is there a fix or a plan for permanent removal?
• BPAC Members asked for an update on the street sweeping issue raised by BPAC Member Guzman
5. STAFF COMMENTS
• Every Kid Deserves a Bike Program is nominated for Program of the Year. Please vote in support of

• Cristina Cruz is no longer with the City, thank you to Cristina. A new admin search has been started.
