HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-08-22 Traffic Safety Commission Final Minutes MEETING MINUTES February 8, 2022 CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO REGULAR MEETING TRAFFIC SAFETY COMMISSION CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 5:33 p.m. by Chairperson Abarca ROLL CALL Present: Dana Abarca, Chairperson Jolene Malfatti, Vice Chairperson Hermes Monzon, Commissioner Justin Yuen, Commissioner Absent: City Staff: Christopher Espiritu, Secretary of the Traffic Safety Commission Adena Friedman, Principal Planner VACANT, Clerk AGENDA REVIEW NO CHANGES PUBLIC COMMENT: 1. None received through email or voicemail prior to the start of the meeting 2. Tom Carney addressed the commission to note that construction sites such as ROEM on Linden/Lux frequently do not have flaggers to direct pedestrians during deliveries of materials. Deliveries often occur between 10am and 1pm during one of the peak times in Downtown. Deliveries should be done earlier from 6am. 3. Tom Carney noted that ADA curb ramps were not installed or partially installed in the neighborhood by the City and Swinerton Construction. This needs to be addressed by the City. CONSENT CALENDAR: 4. Approval of the Regular Meeting Minutes of January 11, 2022 Motion – Vice Chair Malfatti / Second – Commissioner Yuen – to approve the minutes as submitted. Approved by voice vote (4-0-0). TAC Meeting Report for January 2022 • Christopher Espiritu, Secretary to the Commission, provided a summary of requests received by the City’s Traffic Advisory Committee during the previous month. Items included requests for ADA space in front of a persons home, no parking signs to allow access to an existing street- fronting storage room, midblock crosswalk near a school, and other neighborhood concerns. i. Draft meeting minutes for TAC January 2022 is attached to this meeting minutes. 6. Construction Impact Resources - Informational • Christopher Espiritu, Secretary to the Commission, provided a review of the available resources for residents to utilize in case there are specific concerns regarding construction, general traffic disruptions, and other types of concerns on City streets. i. The updated resource memo is attached to this meeting minutes. ITEMS FROM THE COMMISSION - Commissioner Malfatti acknowledged the change in Finance Department procedures. The Commission requests clarification on the new procedures from Finance Department.
