ADMINISTRATIVE ITEMS:
2.TAC 2206 and 2207 Meetings Report (INFORMATIONAL)
-Secretary Espiritu provided a report on the Traffic Advisory Committee (TAC)
meetings from June and July and discussed certain traffic safety and other
issues raised by members of the community.
o Commissioner Carbone inquired about TAC Item 2206-A and if there is
more to the response about the request to move 3-hour parking sign at
1200 Mission Rd for better visibility. Staff noted that the signage

currently in place was determined to be in the appropriate location and
was visible from multiple directions and distance.
o Commissioner Monzon inquired about TAC Item 2206-2 and the request
for no parking between 9am and 5pm on Tamarack Ln to address
narrowness of roadway. No parking restrictions would only be for
construction and would not be in effect after construction is complete.
o Commissioner Monzon inquired about TAC Item 2206-2 and the request
to reduce no parking restrictions along 7th Ln; the intent needs clarity.
Staff noted that Fire Department access needs to be maintained along
the lanes and removing parking restrictions and adding parking limit
emergency response to properties along the lanes. Staff to take this
issue under advisement.
o Commissioner Carbone inquired about Item 2207-B and requested that
additional traffic safety information collected by City Staff, on how other
cities enact policies for ADA curb space, to be sent to the Commission.
Staff will distribute information to the Commission as available.
o Commissioner Monzon inquired about Item 2207-4 and the request for
enforcement of large trucks on Baden. This continues to be an
enforcement issue that is being handled by Police Department and other
City Staff, especially at peak times. Staff to look into appropriate signage
and see if there are signage that can be installed.
ITEMS FROM THE COMMISSION:
-Commissioner Monzon noted that the traffic signal timing at SB Airport
Boulevard (Lux through Baden) takes too long to transition especially at
6:30am. Staff is recommending that a TAC request should be submitted by the
Commissioner.
-Commissioner Monzon noted that in a future meeting, Staff provide an
overview of the difference between SeeClickFix and EngageSSF. And how to
navigate both sites.
-Commissioner Carbone requested information for a future meeting regarding
the Grand/Airport Streetscape Project.
-Commissioner Carbone requested information for a future meeting regarding
the recent projects at San Mateo Avenue and Airport Boulevard.
Chair Abarca adjourned the meeting at 6:14 p.m.
Respectfully submitted.
