AN ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 1.26 ENTITLED
"SEVERABILITY" TO.TITLE 1 OF THESOUTH. SAN
FRANCI$CO'MUNICIPAL CODE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
"SECTION'I~"ADDITION OF CHAPTER'l.26.
Chapter 1.26 is hereby added to Title 1 of the South San Francisco Municipal
Code and shall read as follows:
' CHAPTER 1.26 - SEVERABILITY
'1~26~010. Effect of InValidity.
If any title, chapter, section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of
the South San Francisco Municipal Code is for any reason held to be invalid, such
decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of the South San
Francisco Municipal Code.
1.26.020. Declaration.
The City Council hereby declares that it would have adopted the South San
Francisco Municipal Code, and each title, chapter, section, subsection, sentence,
clause or phrase thereof, irrespective of the fact that one or more titles, chapters,
sections, subsections, sentences, clauses or phrases be declared invalid.
SECTION 2. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
This Ordinance shall be published once as required in the "Enterprise-Journal",
a newspaper of general circulation in the City of South San Francisco, and shall
take effect thirty (30) days following its adoption.

Passed and adopted as an Ordinance of the City of South San Francisco at
a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Fran-
cisco this 21st day of October , 1981, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Ronald G. Acosta, Hark N. Addiego, Emanuele N. Damonte,
Gus Nicolopulos~ and Roberta Cerri Teglia
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
