HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 89-2006 RESOLUTION NO. 89-2006 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY COUNCIL TO ACCEPT $120,332 FROM THE STATE UNDER THE SUPPLEMENTAL LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES FUND (SLESF) PROGRAM AND AMEND THE DEPARTMENT'S BUDGET ACCORDINGLY WHEREAS, staff recolnlnends the acceptance of $120,332 froln the State under the Supplemental Law Enforcelnent Services Fund ("SLESF") Prograln and alnend the Department's budget accordingly; and WHEREAS, in 1996, AsseInbly Bill No. 3229 passed, requiring that $100 Inillion of the State's 1996-97 Budget be appropriated to create a new subvention to augInent local law enforcement efforts. The City received $132,438.20 as one-tilne supplelnental funding for front line police activities; and WHEREAS, the City has continued to receive funding on a yearly basis; and WHEREAS, staff is aware that the State will continue the SLESF prograln for the 2006-2007 fiscal year. The City's $120,332 allohnent will be used to supplelnent current personnel costs; and WHEREAS, to track expenditures for the SLESF, Fund 39 has been established; and WHEREAS, the entire alnount is provided by the State and there are no general funding obligations. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby authorizes acceptance of the $120,332 frOln the State under the Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Fund. * * * * * I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular Ineeting held on the 29th day of Novelnber 2006 by the following vote: AYES: Councihnen1bers Mark N.
