HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-08-22 Traffic Safety Commission Final Minutes MEETING MINUTES November 8, 2022 CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO REGULAR MEETING TRAFFIC SAFETY COMMISSION CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 5:35 p.m. by Chairperson Abarca ROLL CALL: Present: Dana Abarca, Chairperson Jolene Malfatti, Vice Chairperson Hermes Monzon, Commissioner David Carbone, Commissioner Justin Yuen, Commissioner -came in at 5:39pm Absent: None. City Staff: Christopher Espiritu, Secretary of the Traffic Safety Commission Kelsey Evans, Clerk to Traffic Safety Commission Jeffrey Chou, Associate Engineer AGENDA REVIEW: No changes PUBLIC COMMENT: Email from Chair Abarca regarding 201-219 Grand Ave/ ROEM Project. Secretary Espiritu will forward to CCC and other staff. CONSENT CALENDAR: 1. Approval of the Regular Meeting Minutes for October 11, 2022 Motion – Commissioner Carbone / Second Vice Chair Malfatti –– to approve the minutes as amended by Commissioner Carbone. Approved by voice vote (5- 0-0). • Commissioner Carbone – Grand Airport Streetscape & Development projects, asked staff for copies of the presentations. TAC 2210 Meeting DocuSign Envelope ID: 5FDB0432-EA06-404E-9524-FF1675FAE986 • Commissioner Carbone- 2210-1, lots of attachments for this. Attachment #3 had quite a few items to be addresses. What is the process for next steps? • Associate Engineer Chou explained they will go through each item as a whole. attachment #3 was quite large. Engineering will go out and take a look at each item. • Commissioner Carbone - 2209-B, noted no other local agency have this currently. Secretary Espiritu answered staff would like to provide a ‘safety newsletter’ to help the public better understand the law and rules. It was advised to use TSC as a platform to do so. Commissioner Carbone asked if we could include this information • Commissioner Yuen - 2210-3, would like to know the recommendation for this item; the street is steep and what would be best. • Commissioner Monzon, 2209-B, asked who would be publishing the newsletter. Secretary Espiritu answered mostly likely staff would be the ones creating the newsletters. Commissioner Monzon – 2210-2, asked if the blue zone would be available for public use if in front of a house. Secretary Espiritu answered it would still remain virtual for now. • Commissioner Carbone mentioned the City Council on November 4th, mentioned the corridor project from the meeting. Would like to learn more about this project.
