AN ORDINANCE ADDING SUBSECTION 20.57.200I AND SECTION
20.57.205 TO THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO MUNICIPAL CODE
AND ADDING SUBSECTION C. 2. i AND SECTION C. 2.5
TO EXHIBIT "A" TO ORDINANCE NO. 868
(USES PERMITTED IN THE GATEWAY SPECIFIC PLAN ZONE DISTRICT)
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. SUBSECTION 20.57.200I ADDED TO THE MUNICIPAL CODE AND SUBSECTION
C. 2. i ADDED TO EXHIBIT "A" TO ORDINANCE NO. 868
Subsection 20.57.200I is hereby added to the South San Francisco Municipal Code
and Subsection C. 2. i is hereby added to Exhibit "A" to Ordinance No. 868, and
they shall read as follows:
Uses Permitted Parcels
"Storage for three hundred fifty (350) automobiles and C, D, G
passenger vans (but not commercial vans, passenger vans
which seat more than twelve (12) persons or trucks) using
three hundred fifty (350) contiguous parking spaces not
required for buildings for which applications for certifi-
cates of occupancy (either permanent or temporary) have
been requested. The foregoing use shall be of a temporary
nature and shall be authorized only from the effective
date of this Subsection through June 30, 1988."
SECTION 2. SECTION 20.57.205 ADDED TO THE MUNICIPAL CODE AND SECTION C. 2.5
ADDED TO EXHIBIT "A" TO ORDINANCE NO. 868
Section 20.57.205 is hereby added to the South San Francisco Municipal Code,
and Section C. 2.5 is hereby added to Exhibit "A" to Ordinance No. 868, and they
shall read as follows:
"20.57.205 Development Standards for an Automobile Storage Facility
permitted by Subsection 20.57.200I.
In additon to the Development Standards required generally by this Chapter
for all uses in the Gateway Specific Plan Zone District, the following
standards shall apply to an automobile storage facility established'or
reestablished pursuant to Subsection 20.57.200I:
(a) No inoperative vehicles shall be stored in such facility at any
time.
(b) No banners, pennants or other signs shall be allowed for such
use unless specifically approved under a Precise Plan.
(c) The lighting level shall be maintained during all hours of dark-
ness or diminished lighting as required in the Gateway Specific Plan and
as approved in the Precise Plan.
(d) City approval of a detailed security plan shall be obtained prior
to storage of any vehicles, and such plan shall be implemented.
(e) Not more than a total of three hundred fifty (350) vehicles may
be stored, as authorized by Subsection 20.57.200I, at any one time within the
Gateway Specific Plan Zone District.
(f) A Precise Plan shall be required for each separate location or
parcel where such facilities are proposed to be established or reestablished.
(g) These provisions shall not apply to nor preclude the incidental
storage and rental of automobiles on hotel or motel sites if the rental is
provided only to guests and a Precise Plan is approved by the City which shall
indicate the location and set the maximum number of vehicles which may be
permitted.
(h) All automobile storage facilities shall be fully paved, landscaped
and improved at least to the minimum standards required for all parking lots
in the Gateway Specific Plan District.

(i) No temporary automobile or van rental facilities may be established
in connection with the storage use authorized in Subsection 20.57.200I above."
SECTION 3. REPEALER.
This Ordinance shall be automatically repealed on July 1, 1988, except that
this repeal shall not affect or prevent the prosecution or punishment of any person
for any act done or omitted in violation hereof prior to July 1, 1988.
SECTION 4. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
This Ordinance shall be pusblished once, with the names of those City Council
members voting for or against the Ordinance, in the Enterprise-Journal, a news-
paper of general circulation in the City of South San Francisco, as required by
law, and shall become effective thirty (30) days from and after its adoption.

regular meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco this
