Leslie Fong – Requested Secretary Espiritu go into more details about the BPAC Letter of Support. Leslie Fong – Commented on the lack of follow up through SeeClickFix. Anthony Montes – April 19th there will be a forum on Bay Trail to connect communities from 5:00pm-6:00pm. Anthony Montes – Bike Month May 6th from 10:30am-12:30pm, Bikecity.org. The bike event will be for Affordable Housing and will be roughly 7-mile ride 1-way, 14-mile ride loop. Can email him for more information: [email protected] Anthony Montes – Can assist Secretary Espiritu with the proposal to City Council, April 12th & suggested alternative streets to use. CONSENT CALENDAR 1. Approval of the Regular Meeting Minutes for February 1, 2023 Approved 5-0-0: Committee Member Gore motioned, Chair Guzman Seconded ADMINISTRATIVE BUSINESS 2. Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee Reorganization Approved (5-0-0): Committee Member Gore nominated Yip as new Vice Chair, Chair Guzman seconded. 3. BPAC Letter of Support - Various Grants • Secretary Espiritu shared the completed support letter to the Committee. • Committee Member Hollenback requested clarification of the project; would it include Mission Road from El Camino. Secretary Espiritu answered yes, that is included in Colma’s Plan. • Secretary Espiritu informed the Committee that the City will be applying to other Grant Funds in July. ACTION: Informational: None taken, none required COMMITTEE COMMENTS • Committee Member Hollenback – What is the status for the 1051 Mission Road project? Secretary Espiritu responded - This project was approved in 2019; any related bike and ped projects will be presented to BPAC before moving forward. • Committee Member Hollenback – The construction activities at Grand & Airport is blocking public access for pedestrians and bicyclists. Secretary Espiritu responded – Contact [email protected] for any immediate concerns. • Committee Member Gore – Linden St. lights are out which is a safety concern & had concerns for the street sweeping. Secretary Espiritu responded – Note these issues to SeeClickFix. Committee Member Gore responded – There is no action nor response when using SeeClickFix. Secretary Espiritu responded – Suggested [email protected] . DocuSign Envelope ID: C52D3AC6-0DAA-4050-B499-2CF2DADECACC Page 3 of 3 • Committee Member Yip – Would like a tutorial on the best way to submit comments & items. • Committee Member Yip – Noted recent deaths in SSF: 1 by hit & run, 71-year-old man hit while biking on El Camino, DUI hit & run on Super Bowl Sunday. Secretary Espiritu responded – There will now be reporting of all collision deaths and this report will be monitored by PD. • Committee Member Yip – Mentioned City Council rejected the Proposal presented by Espiritu. Secretary Espiritu – Went into detail about the proposal. • Chair Guzman – Mentioned her car was totaled by a distracted driver on their phone; asked what steps could be taken to avoid this in the future. • Committee Member Reno – Commented that wide streets = faster driving. STAFF COMMENTS • Secretary Espiritu shared more information about the Complete Streets Leadership Academy Project and discussed potential alternatives with BPAC. Staff collected feedback on locations and potential issues with current proposals.
