HomeMy WebLinkAboutPC Meeting 01-20-11 (Reso 2701-2011) - R.Bernardo PC PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA 2701-2011 A RESOLUTION COMMENDING ROBERTO BERNARDO WHEREAS, Roberto was appointed to the Planning Commission in 2008 and served through December 2010 during which time he provided invaluable service to the City of South San Francisco, serving as Vice Chairperson in 2010; and WHEREAS, during his time on the Commission the City experienced growth and development in the community highlighted by the approval of a 22 acre life science campus for the Gateway area; as well as the 636 El Camino Real mixed use project consisting of 109 residential units and approximately 5,000 square feet of ground retail space; and WHEREAS, Roberto provided patient guidance and common sense recommendations on critical land use issues with integrity and a professional mannerism; and WHEREAS, during Roberto’s tenure the Planning Commission undertook a complete revision of the City’s Zoning Ordinance, as well as amending the General Plan to include the El Camino Real Mixed Industrial Zone District, and WHEREAS, Roberto has been an active participant at every Planning Commission meeting and has exhibited a high level of interest in the community on urban design, neighborhood preservation and environmental issues; and WHEREAS, throughout his years as a Commissioner, Roberto has shown a strong commitment and dedication to the stewardship of the community and to preserving the character of the City’s neighborhoods. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that in recognition of Roberto’s hard work and achievements, the City of South San Francisco Planning Commission hereby expresses its sincere appreciation and wishes him well in his future endeavors. * * * * * * I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the Planning Commission of the City of South San Francisco at its regular meeting of Thursday, January 20th, 2011.
