HomeMy WebLinkAboutPC Meeting 02-07-08 (Reso 2666-2008) - Judy Honan PC PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA 2665-2008 A RESOLUTION COMMENDING JUDITH (JUDY) HONAN WHEREAS, Judy Honan provided invaluable service to the Planning Commission during her three-term, ten and a half year tenure (1997 - 2007) on the Planning Commission of the City of South San Francisco, serving as Chairperson in 1999; and WHEREAS, during this time the City experienced extensive growth and development in all sectors of the community highlighted by several million square feet of office/research and development space, including the Genentech Founder’s Research Center buildings, Britannia Oyster Point I, Britannia East Grand, and 249 East Grand, substantial commercial development including Lowe’s Home Improvement Center and Costco, as well as numerous residential projects including Parc Place, Terrabay, Promenade, South City Lights, Oak Farms, Chestnut Creek Senior Housing, Oak Avenue Affordable Housing and Park Station Lofts; and WHEREAS, Judy provided patient guidance and common sense recommendations on critical land use issues, with integrity and a professional mannerism; and WHEREAS, during Judy’s tenure the Planning Commission undertook a complete revision of the City’s General Plan, as well as significant amendments to the Zoning Ordinance including the Genentech 10 year Master Plan, the Transit Village Overlay District, the Inclusionary Housing Ordinance, the Cultural Arts Ordinance, the Residential Second Unit Ordinance and the Child Care Impact Fee Ordinance; and WHEREAS, Judy has been an active participant at every Planning Commission meeting during her tenure and has exhibited a high level of interest in the community on urban design, neighborhood preservation and environmental issues; and WHEREAS, throughout her many years as a Commissioner, Judy has shown a strong commitment and dedication to the stewardship of the community and to preserving the character of the City’s neighborhoods. Special appreciation is extended for her efforts as a member of the following subcommittees: Planning Commission bylaws, Design Review Board submittal requirements, Second Units Ordinance, Transit Village Zone and the Terrabay Phase III subcommittee. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that in recognition of Judy’s hard work and achievements, the City of South San Francisco Planning Commission hereby expresses its sincere appreciation and wishes her well in her future endeavors. * * * * * * I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the Planning Commission of the City of South San Francisco at its regular meeting of Thursday, February 7, 2008.
