HomeMy WebLinkAboutPC Meeting 12-16-99 (Reso 2550-1999) - Avis RESOLUTION NO. 2550-1999 PLANNING COMMISSION, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO RECOMMENDING THAT THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO CITY COUNCIL APPROVE RZ 99-092 RECLASSIFICATION FROM PLANNED INDUSTRIAL (P-I) ZONING DISTRICT TO LIGHT INDUSTRIAL (L-I) ZONING DISTRICT ON A 4 ACRE SITE LOCATED AT 230 HARBOR WAY. WHEREAS, the South San Francisco Planning Commission held a duly noticed public hearing on December 16, 1999; and, WHEREAS, as required by the Amendment Procedures (SSFMC Chapter 20.87), the Planning Commission makes the following findings are made in support of the Reclassification from planned Industrial (P-I) Zone District to Light Industrial (L-I) Zone District, on a 4 acre site located at 230 Harbor Way, owned by Avis Rent-A-Car systems, Inc., based on public testimony and the materials submitted to the City of South San Francisco Planning Commission which include, but are not limited to: Site Plans submitted in conjunction with the planning application; December 16, 1999 Planning Commission staff report; and December 16, 1999 Planning Commission meeting: 1. The project is consistent with the provisions of the City=s General Plan which supports industrial development. The proposed use of the site for a maximum of 15 automobile rentals on the 4 acre site is well within the intensity of development provided in the City=s General Plan. 2. The 4 acre site is physically suited for the proposed automobile rentals. 3. The development will continue an environment of sustained stability and will result in an intensity of land use similar to adjacent industrial developments. 4. A Negative Declaration was prepared and circulated for 20 days in accordance with the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), as amended. 5. The use of the site for a maximum of 15 automobile rentals in addition to the existing automobile rental storage and servicing, will not be adverse to the public health, safety, or general welfare of the community, nor unreasonably detrimental to surrounding properties or improvements. The new and existing uses are compatible with the existing uses which are industrial in nature. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission hereby recommends that the South San Francisco City Council approve RZ 99-092, subject to the Conditions of Approval contained in Exhibit B. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. * * * * * * * I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was adopted by the Planning Commission of the City of South San Francisco at the regular meeting held on the 16th day of December, 1999 by the following vote: AYES: Commissioner Baldocchi, Commissioner D'Angelo, Commissioner Meloni, Commissioner Teglia, Vice Chairperson Sim and Chairperson Honan NOES: None ABSTAIN: None ABSENT: Commissioner Romero ATTEST: Thomas C.
