CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT FOR 2006-2007 STREETS SLURRY
SEAL AND CAPE SEAL PROJECT TO BOND
BLACKTOP, INC.
WHEREAS, staff recolnmends that the City Council award the construction contract
for 2006-2007 Streets Slurry Seal and Cape Seal Projects to the lowest responsible bidder,
Bond Blacktop, Inc. of Union City, in an aInount not to exceed $506,190.35; and
WHEREAS, on February 5, 2007 and February 15, 2007, staff advertised the notice
to invite sealed bids for the project; and
WHEREAS, on March 6, 2007, staff opened bids and six were received; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funds for this project are included in the City's 2006-07
Capital Improvement Pro graIn. Sufficient Gas tax and Measure A funds were budgeted to
cover the project costs; and
WHEREAS, the use of black aggregate shall be used as a City standard for slurry seal
and all future slurry seal projects, and the use of polYlnerized asphalt surface sealer (PASS)
as a City standard for chip seal/cape seal and all future chip seal/cape seal projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that the City Council hereby awards the construction contract for the 2006-07
Streets Slurry Seal and Cape Seal Project to Bond Blacktop, Inc. in the aInount of
$506,190.35.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute
the contract on behalf of the City of South San Francisco.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted
by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular lneeting held on the 28th
day of March 2007 by the following vote:
