HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-13-23 - Traffic Safety Commission Final MinutesCALL TO ORDER: ROLL CALL: Present: MEETING MINUTES June 13, 2023 CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO REGULAR MEETING TRAFFIC SAFETY COMMISSION The meeting was called to order at 5:37 p.m. by Chairperson Dave Carbone David Carbone, Chairperson Hermes Monzon, Vice Chairperson Dana Abarca, Commissioner Justin Yuen, Commissioner Absent: None City Staff: Marissa Garren, Secretary to the Traffic Safety Commission Diana Wang, Clerk to the Traffic Safety Commission Dave Bockhaus, Public Works Deputy Director Matthew Ruble, Principal Engineer AGENDA REVIEW: No changes PUBLIC COMMENT: None CONSENT CALENDAR: 1 . Approval of the Joint Parking Place Commission and Traffic Safety Commission Meeting Minutes for May 9, 2023. Motion -Commissioner Abarca / Second Vice Chairperson Monzon -to approve the minutes as submitted. Approved by voice vote (3-0-1). Commissioner Yuen abstained from vote. ADMINISTRATIVE ITEMS: • Chair Carbone requested to approve the May 9, 2023 Brown Act Training slides as submitted. • Motion -Commissioner Abarca/ Second Vice Chairperson Monzon-to approve the Brown Act Training slides as submitted. Approved by voice vote (3- 0-1 ). Commissioner Yuen abstained from vote. ITEMS FROM THE COMMISSION: • Commissioner Abarca brought up concerns of the consistent double parking on the 600 block of Linden Avenue. • Vice Chair Monzon requested the May 9, 2023 meeting minutes posted on the City website. • Chair Carbone raised concerns regarding the striping on the left turn lanes on Oyster Point Boulevard onto the southbound 101 ramp. • Chair Carbone requested Traffic Advisory Committee (TAC) agenda to be included in the next Traffic Safety Commission (TSC) agenda. ITEMS FROM THE STAFF: • Dave Backhaus, Public Works Deputy Director, introduced city staff to commissioners. • Matthew Ruble, Principal Engineer, presented proposed Capital Improvement Projects for FY 2023-24. • Commissioner Abarca would like a follow up regarding the Orange Dog Park Improvements. o City staff to reach out to Parks & Recreation. • Vice Chair Monzon suggested underground parking lots to alleviate congested areas in the City. • Marissa Garren, Secretary to the Traffic Safety Commission provided an update on the Free South City Shuttle Route Expansion. o City staff to provide more information/links for the east of 101 shuttles (commute.erg). • Chair Carbone requested TAC agenda Items to be discussed at the next meeting .
