A ORDINANCE APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 20.06,
CHAPTER 20.31 AND CHAPTER 20.75 OF THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
MUNICIPAL CODE AND APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE ZONING
MAP FOR THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO REDESIGNATING THE
PROPERTY IDENTIFIED ON THE ASSESSOR'S PARCEL MAP NO. 015-102-
300 AS LIGHT INDUSTRIAL.
The City of South San Francisco does hereby ordain as follows:
Section 1:
The Zoning District Map of the City of South San Francisco is hereby amended to change
the zoning from Planned Industrial to Light Industrial of the parcel 015-102-300 consisting of
approximately 14.9 acres of land generally located east of East Jamie Court in the East of 101 Area,
as further described in the attached Exhibit A.
Section 2:
Chapter 20.06, Section 20.060.270 of the Zoning Ordinance, (Use Classifications "W") is
hereby amended to include a new subparagraph (c): "(c) Waste Transfer Facility. A facility which
operates as a materials recovery, recycling, and solid waste transfer operation. The facility provides
solid waste recycling and transfer services for local cities and the San Francisco International
Airport. The facility sorts and removes recyclable materials (including paper, metal, wood, inert
materials such as soils and concrete, green waste, glass, aluminum, and cardboard) through
separation and sorting technologies to divert these materials from the waste stream otherwise
destined for landfill.";and to reletter Section 20.060.270 "W" paragraph "(c) Wholesale, Storage,
and Distribution" as "(d) Wholesale, Storage, and Distribution."
Section 3:
Chapter 20.75, Section 20.75.020 of the Zoning Ordinance (Recycling Regulations) is hereby
amended to add a new subparagraph (c) (3) "Waste Transfer Facility. A facility which operates as
a materials recovery, recycling, and solid waste transfer operation. The facility provides solid waste
recycling and transfer services for local cities and the San Francisco International Airport. The
facility sorts and removes recyclable materials (including paper, metal, wood, inert materials such
as soils and concrete, green waste, glass, aluminum, and cardboard) through separation and sorting
technologies to divert these materials from the waste stream otherwise destined for landfill"; and
Section 4:
Chapter 20.31 of the Zoning Ordinance (Light Industrial District Use Regulations), which
is currently under review by the City Council, is modified to add a new line 21 in Table 20.31.20:
"21 Waste Transfer Facility ................. C"; and to re-number line 21 "21 Wholesale, Storage, and
Distribution [Industrial Use Type] .......... P" in Table 20.31.20 as "22 Wholesale, Storage, and
Distribution [Industrial Use Type] ............... P".
Section 5: SEVERABILITY
In the event that any section or portion of this ordinance shall be determined invalid or
unconstitutional, such section or portion shall be deemed severable and all other sections or portions
hereof shall remain in full force and effect.
Introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, held on the
10th day of February, 1999.

of the City of South San Francisco, held on the Hareh 10 , 1999 by the following vote:
