AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AMENDING CHAPTER 11.40 OF
THE MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING PARKING
COMMERCIAL VEHICLES IN RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS
WHEREAS, the California Vehicle Code authorizes the City of South San Francisco to
adopt regulations concerning traffic and parking; and
WHEREAS, amendments to the South San Francisco Municipal Code are necessary to
make the Municipal Code consistent with the Vehicle Code;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Section 11.40.210 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code entitled
"Parking commercial vehicle in restricted districts" is hereby amended as follows:
"11.40.210 Parking commercial vehicle in restricted districts.
It is unlawful for any person to park any commercial vehicle having a manufacturer's gross
vehicle weight rating of 10,000 pounds or more in any residential district in excess of three
consecutive hours. This section does not apply to any commercial vehicle making pickups
or deliveries of goods, wares, and merchandise from or to any building or structure located
in a residential district, or when such vehicle is parked in connection with and in aid of
the performance of a service to property in the district, or for the purpose of delivering
materials to be used in the actual and bona fide repair, alteration, remodeling, or
construction of any structure for which a building permit has previously been obtained,
when time in addition to the three hour period is necessary to complete such work."
Section 2: Severability
In the event any section or portion of this ordinance shall be determined invalid or
unconstitutional, such section or portion shall be deemed severable and all other sections
or portions hereof shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 3. Publication and Effective Date
This ordinance shall be published once, with the names of those City Councilmembers
voting for or against it, in the San Mateo Times, a newspaper of general circulation in the
City of South San Francisco, as required by law, and shall become effective thirty (30) days
from and after its adoption.
Introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco,
held the 28th day of Avril , 1999.
Adopted as an Ordinance of the City of South Francisco at a regular meeting of the City
Council held the 12th day of May , 1999 by the following vote:

Councilmembers Joseph A. Fernekes, ~ugene R. Mullin, John
R. Penna, Mayor Pro Tem Karyl Matsumoto, and Mayor James L. Datzman.
NOES: None.
ABSTAIN: None_
ABSENT: None
As Mayor of the City of South San Francisco, I do hereby approve the foregoing Ordinance
this 12th day of l~ay , 1999.
