HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 101-2007RF;SOLUTION NO. 101-2007 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RF.SOLU'hION ACCEPTING $79,662 IN GRANT FUNDING FROM THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY AND AMENDING THE FIRE DEPARTMENT'S 2007/2008 OPF,RATING BUDGET WHEREAS, staff recommends the acceptance of a grant in the amount of $79,662 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to purchase firefighting hose and nozzles; and WHEREAS, the grant represents 80% of the total funding for the firefighting hose and nozzles and FEMA regulations require the City to pay the remaining 20% cost of $19,915; and WHEREAS, the City's cost: is included in the Fire Departments 2007-08 budget (10- 11710-4740), and the funds will be used to amend this year's operating budget of the Fire Department. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby accepts a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency in the amount of $79,662 to purchase firefighting hose and nozzles and amends the 2007-2008 Operating Budget to reflect the increase of $79,662 to the Fire Department's budget.. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a City Council meeting held on the 10th day of October, 2007 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark N. Addiego, Joseph A. Fernekes and Karyl Matsumoto, Vice Mayor Pedro Gonzalez and Mayor Richard A. Garbarino NOES: None ABSTAIN: ABSENT: None ATTEST: Interim ity Clerk
