RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF
$4,069.14 IN FUNDING FROM SAN MATEO COUNTY
REGISTRATION AND ELECTIONS DIVISION TO
SUPPORT A 29-DAY VOTE CENTER AT THE MAIN
LIBRARY, LIBRARY I PARKS AND RECREATION
CENTER, FOR THE NOVEMBER 5, 2024
PRESIDENTIAL GENERAL ELECTION AND
APPROVING BUDGET AMENDMENT NUMBER 25.013.
WHEREAS, the South San Francisco Main Library will serve as a 29-Day Vote Center for the
upcoming November 5, 2024 Presidential General Election; and
WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Registration and Elections Division has awarded the City of
South San Francisco ("City") $4,069.14 in funding to support the 29-Day Vote Center at the South San
Francisco Main Library; and
WHEREAS, the Vote Center will be available to assist residents with ballot issues and will provide
expanded voter services, including voter registration, multilingual assistance, and disabled access to voting
options; and
WHEREAS, this will be the eleventh election for which the Library, partnering with the City
Clerk, provides Vote Center services; and
WHEREAS, acceptance of this funding will contribute to the City's Strategic Plan under Priority
#6, which includes a goal of creating community connections, by providing a local vote site as a convenient
option for voters; and
WHEREAS, Library staff recommends to accept funding in the amount of $4,069.14 from the San
Mateo County Registration and Elections Division to support a 29-Day Vote Center; and
WHEREAS, funds will be used to amend Fiscal Year (FY) 2024-25 Operating Budget of the
Library Department via Budget Amendment Number 25.013.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
does hereby accept $4,069.14 in funding from the San Mateo County Registration and Elections Division
and approves Budget Amendment Number 25.013 to amend the Library Department's FY 2024-25
Operating Budget in order to reflect an increase of $4,069.14.
At a meeting of the City Council on 9/11/2024, a motion was made by Councilmember Addiego,
seconded by Councilmember Nagales, that this Resolution be approved. The motion passed.
