RESOLUTION NO. 20-2008
CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING GRANT FUNDS OF $15,000
FROM ABAG PLAN FOR THE PURCHASE OF TASERS AND
AMENDING THE POLICE DEPARTMENTS 2007/2008
WHEREAS, the proper use of tasers can be an effective tool in reducing risk of injury to
officers and persons being anested; and
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco Police Departnlent wishes to take advantage of
a grant progranl froln ABAG PLAN for the purchase oftasers for each officer in the depmilnel1t; and
WHEREAS, the Police Depminlent has $35,000.00 in funds set aside in its asset seizure
accounts that can be used to supplelnent this grant funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby approves the acceptance of a $15,000 grant :f1-Oln ABAG, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the operating budget is hereby increased in the Police
DepartInent by $50,000.00, offset by the ABAG grant and by asset seizure funds.

I hereby celiify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the
City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular lneeting held on the 13th day of
February, 2008 by the following vote:
