HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 26-2008 RESOLUTION NO. 26-2008 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AWARDING PHASE II OF THE REPLACEMENT OF TWO (2) PLA YGROUND STRUCTURES IN THE WESTBOROUGH COMMON GREENS AREA OF GREENDALE BETWEEN KENT/CROFTON AND RADBURN, UTILIZING A COOPERATIVE PURCHASING AGREEMENT ON THE CITY OF CASTRO VALLEY'S BID. 2007-2008 CIP PROJECT NO.51-13232-0824 WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council adopt a resolution awarding the Phase II of Westborough Common Greens Greendale neighborhoods Playground Structure replacement project for two (2) locations, utilizing a cooperative purchasing agreement on the City of Castro Valley's bid, awarded to Miracle PlaySystems, Inc. of Alamo, California in the amount of $61,998.81; and WHEREAS, the project will involve removal of the old playground equipment and installation of new ADA-compliant playground equipment; and WHEREAS, the old playground structures will be donated to a local service club, who will refurbish, reassemble and install them in disadvantaged neighborhoods in Mazatlan, Mexico; and WHEREAS, Section 4.04.040 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code expressly authorizes inter-agency cooperative purchasing agreements when made in conformance with procedures established by state law; and WHEREAS, funding is included in the 2007/2008 CIP Budget (CIP/51-13232-0824) in the amount of $150,000. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby award a contract to Miracle PlaySystems, Inc. of Alamo, California, in the amount of $61,998.81 for Phase II of a two (2) phased project funded in the 2007/2008 CIP Budget in the amount of$150,000. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the contract on behalf of the City of South San Francisco. * * * * * I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 1 ih day of March 2008 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark N.
