HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 124-2001RESOLUTION NO. 124-2001 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE APPLICATION TO THE METROPOLITAN COMMISSION FOR A TRANSPORTATION FOR LIVABLE COMMUNITIES GRANT TO CREATE THE CITY-WIDE LINEAR PARK OVER THE BART-SFO RIGHT- OF -WAY WHEREAS, the Linear Park is a key component to the City's long-term planning and community outreach program; and WHEREAS, the General Plan, which was honored by the California Chapter of the American Planning Association, creates transit oriented development policies adjacent to the South San Francisco BART Station, the San Bruno BART Station and the Caltrain Station; and WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council adopt a resolution supporting the application to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission for a Transportation for Livable Communities grant to create the city-wide Linear Park. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby supports the application to the Metropolitan Commission for a Transportation for Livable Communities grant to create the city-wide Linear Park over the Bart- SFO right-of-way. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 12th day of December, 2001 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Joseph A. Fernekes, Raymond L. Green and Karyl Matsumoto Mayor Pro Tem Pedro Gonzalez and Mayor Eugene R. Mullin NOES: None. ABSTAIN: None. ABSENT: None. ATTEST: y Clerk
