CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE 2001-2002
OPERATING BUDGET (NO. 02-8) TO INCLUDE THE $123,398.00
THE POLICE DEPARTMENT WILL RECEIVE FROM THE STATE
UNDER THE SUPPLEMENTAL LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES
FUND (SLESF) PROGRAM
WHEREAS, Assembly Bill No. 3229 requires that $100 million of the State's 1996-97
budget be appropriated to create a new subvention to augment local law enforcement efforts; and
WHEREAS, the initial year's SLESF allotment money was used to hire two officers and
purchase safety equipment; and
WHEREAS, this year's SLESF funds will continue to be used for the same purpose as in the
past; and
WHEREAS, the Department has been made aware that the State will continue the SLESF
program for the 2001-2002 fiscal year and that our allotment is $123,398.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby approves an amendment to the 2001-2002 Operating budget
(No. 02-8) to include the $123,398.00 the Police Department will receive from the State under the
Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Fund (SLESF) Program.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the
City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 9th day of January
2002 by the following vote:
AYES:
Councilmembers Joseph A. Fernekes, Raymond L. Green and Karyl Matsumoto,
Mayor Pro Tem Pedro Gonzalez and Mayor Eugene R. Mullin
NOES: None.

ABSENT: None.
