How to provide Public Comment during the Meeting: COMMENTS ARE LIMITED TO THREE (3) MINUTES PER SPEAKER Under the Public Comment section of the agenda, members of the public may speak on any item not listed on the Agenda. Pursuant to provisions of the Brown Act, no action may be taken on a matter unless it is listed on the agenda, or unless certain emergency or special circumstances exist. The Chair may direct staff to investigate and/or schedule certain matters for consideration at a future meeting. If there appears to be a large number of speakers, the Chair may reduce speaking time to limit the total amount of time for public comments (Gov. Code sec. 54954.3(b)(1).). American Disability Act: The City Clerk will provide materials in appropriate alternative formats to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Please send a written request to City Clerk Rosa Govea Acosta at 400 Grand Avenue, South San Francisco, CA 94080, or email at [email protected]. Include your name, address, phone number, a brief description of the requested materials, and preferred alternative format service at least 24-hours before the meeting. Absent: Aaron Adriano, Nika Mariano, Claudia Miller, Jiancarlo Ray, Edward Tian, Sara Vides. Public Comments: No public comments were made. Agenda Review: No changes to the agenda. Items from Staff Members: Review and approval of Draft Minutes from November 4, 2024 Youth Commission Meeting. Ally Tunque called a motion to approve the minutes from the meeting held on November 4, 2024. The motion was seconded by Alejandra Ramirez. All commissioners were in favor. Motion was approved. Matters for Consideration Discussion of Subcommittees and Vote to Establish New Subcommittees Nataly Quinteros will be joining Social Media subcommittee. Updates from subcommittees: Community Engagement Subcommittee mentioned ideas listing community events and giving out menstrual product supplies. Social Media Engagement had an idea of introducing who the Youth Commission is and what they do on Instagram. Also have each commissioner send an updated picture with small bio. Voter Registration Committee does not have much right now since not election season, but can start preparing and planning for upcoming election. An idea was to attend other Boards & Commission meetings or City Council meetings and report back with information. Some ideas that came up for the Commission, but not assigned to a committee • Having donation boxes for pets. Boxes were to include blankets, beds, doggie bags, etc. Reach out to animal shelters/ rescue centers that may need support • There was an idea of having a STEM fair at the Library • Possibly a prom dress giveaway & makeup 5 • Help out in the Vote Center for upcoming • Visit or view other Youth Commission meetings to get ideas.
