How to provide Public Comment during the Meeting: COMMENTS ARE LIMITED TO THREE (3) MINUTES PER SPEAKER Under the Public Comment section of the agenda, members of the public may speak on any item not listed on the Agenda. Pursuant to provisions of the Brown Act, no action may be taken on a matter unless it is listed on the agenda, or unless certain emergency or special circumstances exist. The Chair may direct staff to investigate and/or schedule certain matters for consideration at a future meeting. If there appears to be a large number of speakers, the Chair may reduce speaking time to limit the total amount of time for public comments (Gov. Code sec. 54954.3(b)(1).). American Disability Act: The City Clerk will provide materials in appropriate alternative formats to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Agenda Review: No changes to the agenda. Items from Staff Members: Review and approval of Draft Minutes from December 2, 2024 Youth Commission Meeting. Alex Lau called motion to approve the minutes of the December 2, 2024 meeting, seconded by Vivek Narottam. All commissioners were in favor. Motion was approved. Matters for Consideration Updates from Subcommittees Subcommittees were quiet this last month, holiday planning. 1) Civic & Community Engagement: Alex shared he spoke with Edward about maybe attending local community events and asking if they need help or how to help out. 2) Social Media: Alejandra mentioned they are unable to plan because they do not have an Instagram account set up. Would like to know process of setting up Instagram account with a City email or gmail account. Adam will follow up with City IT Director or Communications Director about process in setting up the account. 3) Voter Registration: Did not meet Discussion of upcoming Library programming and events, and opportunities for Youth Commission participation and involvement Bobby shared flyers of upcoming Library events Agenda Building Update of recruitment of Youth Commission Subcommittee Updates: Community Engagement, Social Media, Voter Registration Updated of the Youth Commission website 15 Pet collection discussion Items from Commissioners Ally shared her experience tabling at the library for a school project on awareness of Asian health research registry with UCSF. Public was engaged and open to receive information.
