HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 6-2001RESOLUTION NO. 6-2001 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $8004.33 TO SUPPORT LIBRARY PROGRAMS AND SERVICES AND AMENDING THE 2000/2001 OPERATING BUDGET (01-24) WHEREAS, staff recommends the acceptance of grant funds in the amount of $8004.33 to support Library programs; and WHEREAS, the Library has been awarded a Federal Library Services and Technology Act grant in the amount of $3621.00 to provide tuition reimbursement for a Library staff member; and WHEREAS, the Library has received a $500.00 subsidy from the California State Library for its participation in the statewide database project; and WHEREAS, the Library Department has received $3883.33 in additional funding from the Peninsula Community Foundation to support the South San Francisco Community Partnership as follows: $1500.00 is targeted for the three-year planning process and $2383.33 is additional revenue to support this year's program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby authorizes the acceptance of grant funds in the amount of $8004.33 to support South San Francisco Public Library programs and projects and amends the 2000/2001 Operating Budget (01-24) with funding from the Federal Library Services and Technology Act, California State Library and the Peninsula Community Foundation. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a Regular meeting held on the 24th day of January ,2001 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Pedro Gonzalez and Karvl Matsumoto, and Mayor Joseph A. Fernekes NOES: None. ABSTAIN: None. ABSENT: Mayor Pro Tern Eugene R. Mullin and Councilman John R. Penna ATTEST: City Clerk /
