VI. PRESENTATIONS
2025 Jack Drago Youth Art Internship
Business Manager O’Brien informed the Commission about the Jack Drago Youth Art Internship. This position is open to one senior or junior residing in South San Francisco or attending a school with the South San Francisco Unified School District. The intern will work about 20 hours per week in a pre-designed project with a focus in
either visual arts or performing arts, depending on their interests and strengths.
Public Art Collection Monthly Spotlight
In lieu of an art field trip, staff will prepare a monthly staff report that will highlight an
area from the public art collection that will allow Commissioners to explore via self-guided tours at their own leisure.
Business Manager O’Brien explained the approach for sharing a monthly art highlight would more easily facilitate Commissioner discussions regarding the City’s public art collection, as a field trip involving a quorum of Commissioners would be subject to
the Brown Act.
For April 2025, staff selected to highlight sculptures located at Orange Memorial Park.
Subcommittee Reports
Art Gallery Shows
