CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT FOR THE EAST OF 101 SEWER
IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT TO JMB CONSTRUCTION OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $3201,430.00
WHEREAS, on June 10, 2008 and June 14, 2008, staff adveliised the notice to invite
sealed bids for the East of 101 Sewer Inlprovenlents Project ("Project"); and
WHEREAS, on July 8, 2008, staff received and opened four (4) bids, and the lowest
bidder was JMB Construction, 111C. of South San Francisco, CA., in the mnount of
$3,201,430.00; and
WHEREAS, staff recolnnlends that the City Council award the construction contract to
JMB Construction, 111C, in an mnount not to exceed $3,201,430.00; and
WHEREAS, this project is part of the Genentech Master Plan and largely funded by
Genentech, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, this project is included in the City of South San Francisco's 2007-2008
Capital 1111provement Project (CIP) budget and sufficient funds were budgeted to cover the
proj ect cost.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the Council hereby awards the construction contract for the East of 101 Sewer
Inlprovenlents Project to JMB Construction, Inc. in an mnount not to exceed $3,201,430.00,
conditioned on JMB Construction's tiInely execution of the project contract and sublnission of all
required doclllnents, including but not lilnited to, executed bonds, celiificates of insurance and
endorselnents in accordance with project bid doculnents.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the
Agreelnent on behalf of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, subject to approval
as to fonn by the City Attolney.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular lneeting held on the 23rd day of
July 2008 by the following vote:
