RESOLUTION NO. 16-2008
REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY BOARD, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO,
STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH MVE
& PARTNERS TO PREPARE THE EL CAMINO
REAL/CHESTNUT AVENUE LAND USE & SPECIFIC PLAN
IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $583,299
WHEREAS, in February of2008, staff advertised a Request for Proposals for preparation
of the EI Call1ino Real/Chestnut Avenue Land Use and Specific Plan; and
WHEREAS, staff received five proposals and interviewed all finns in April of2008; and
WHEREAS, staff recolnn1ends awarding the contract to McLarand Vasquez Emsiek &
Partners (MVE), an architectural fin11 in Oakland, because of its superior experience and
qualifications.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Redevelopll1ent Agency Board of the
City of South San Francisco hereby:
1. Approves the EI Camino Real/Chesnut Ave Land Use & Specific Plan preparation
contract to MVE of Oakland, California in an aInount not to exceed $583,299.00,
conditioned on MVE's till1ely execution of the project contract and subn1ission of
all required documents, including but not lilnited to, executed bonds, celiificates
of insurance and endorsell1ents in accordance with proj ect bid doclunents.
2. Authorizes the Executive Director to execute the project contract substantially in
the fon11 presented to the Redeveloplnent Agency Board, with such modifications
consistent with the intent of this Resolution as the Executive Director n1ay
approve in consultation with the City Atton1ey.
