HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 98-2008RESOLUTION NO. 98-2008 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF METAL GUARDRAILS ON RAILROAD AVENUE AND SOUTH SPRUCE AVENUE TO EXARO TECHNOLOGIES CORPORATION IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $54,840 WHEREAS, on July 22, 2008, staff advertised a Request for Proposal for the replacement of metal guardrails on Railroad Avenue and South Spruce Avenue ("Project"); and WHEREAS, staff received four proposals, and Exaro Technologies Corporation was the lowest bidder; and WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council adopt a resolution awarding the Proj ect contract to Exaro Technologies Corporation of South San Francisco, California, in an amount not to exceed $ 54,840; and WHEREAS, the replacement of existing guardrails on Railroad Avenue and South Spruce Avenue shall improve vehicle safety; and WHEREAS, funding is included in the 2008-2009 CIP Budget. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby: 1. Awards a construction contract to Exaro Technologies Corporation of South San Francisco, California, iri an amount not to exceed $54,840 for replacement of metal guardrails on Railroad Avenue and South Spruce Avenue, conditioned on Exaro's timely execution of the project contract and submitting all required documents, including but not limited to, executed bonds, certificates of insurance, and endorsements, in accordance with the project bid documents. 2. Authorizes the City Manager to execute the Agreement on behalf of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco upon timely submission by Exaro of the signed project contract and all other required documents, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney. * * * ~ -1- I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 10th day of September 2008 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark N.
