CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE I[vSTALLATION OF
STOP SIGNS ON MILLER AVENUE AT V~~ALNUT AVENUE
WHEREAS, the Traffic Advisory Committee (TAC) received a request from the
community group, Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), for all-
way stop signs on Miller A~-enue located at Walnut Avenue; and
WHEREAS, there is stop control on southbound Walnut Avenue with no stop control on
Miller Avenue; and
WHEREAS, TAC recommends that stop signs be installed due to limited sight distance
from southbound Walnut Avenue, high pedestrian traffic at the marked school crosswalks and
seasonal issues with sun blindness as drivers approach the intersection from either direction on
Miller Avenue. Stop signs would increase the safety for the existing marked crosswalks and
provide safe left turn movement from southbound Walnut onto eastbound Miller Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby approves and authorizes staff to install sop signs on
Miller Avenue at Walnut Avenue.
