Marc Teglia spoke as a South San Francisco resident and urged everyone to review Kelly Teglia's
qualifications for the position of City Clerk.

Demolition of 32,000 square feet of an existing building along the front facade, reconstruction of the existing
mezzanine within the building, and conversion of the building to office / R & D use. The project would
include 90,000 square feet on the ground floor and 30,000 square feet on the second (mezzanine) level for a
total of 120,000 square feet. The site is 256,618 square feet in area, or 6.1 acres. The proposed floor area
ratio is 0.45. The project includes a Transportation Demand Management Program (TDM Program) targeted
at a 30 percent mode shift in accordance with SSFMC Chapters 20.32, 20.81 and 20.85.
Motion Teglia /Second Giusti to approve the Consent Calendar. Approved by unanimous voice vote.

3. SSF Conference Center Expansion

Review of materials and color samples fora 4,100 sf expansion of the existing Conference Center in the
Planned Commercial (P-C) Zone District in accordance with the Final Conditions of Approval.
Senior Planner Lappen briefly introduced the project.
John Lucchesi presented the project to the Commission and showed them materials samples.
Commissioner Teglia questioned if the green color that identifies the Conference Center was going to be
changed. Conference Center Director OToole mentioned that the green will likely go away as they are
consider a more warm color approach.
Motion Teglia /Second Zemke to approve the color samples for the Conference Center expansion.

Chief Planner Kalkin presented the Staff Report.
Lara Carapella, a member of the public asked who will be supervising the youths living at the location, if
there would be background checks and how they would deal with potential parking issues. Chief Planner
Kalkin replied that the Planning Division is only dealing with a small portion of the process and will provide
Ms. Carapella with the County's contact information. She noted that the use will continue as it exists but the
county is targeting a specific population.
Vice Chairperson Giusti noted that there is a parking lot next to this properly that can be used after 6 p.m. by
residents. Chief Planner Kalkin replied affirmatively.
Commissioner Teglia noted his concern with only issuing a General Plan consistency finding without any
background on the use of the facility. He questioned whether the City has discretion on how many are in a
particular area. He asked to see how many facilities are in the area and the Commission's discretion on
limiting over-concentration.
Motion Giusti /Second Teglia to continue the item to September 20, 2007 to allow a County
representative to present the project. Approved by unanimous voice vote. Commissioner Honan absent.

representative to present the project. Approved by unanimous voice vote. Commissioner Honan absent.

6. City Attorney's update on Solaire Project -Developer Fairfield.
Assistant City Attorney Woodruff presented the report and noted that the corner window columns is the only
remaining pending item to allow them to obtain their occupancy permits. Commissioner Teglia added that
the glass on the corners was an item that was still pending per the approval of the subcommittee.

Commissioner Teglia invited everyone to attend Day in the Park on September 15t", the City Wide Garage
Sale on September 7t" and 8t" and the Soroptimist will be participating.
