HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 06-2009RESOLUTION NO. 06-2009 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THB SAN MATED COUNTY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY FOR DISTRIBUTION OF THE SAN MATED COUNTY 2004 MEASURE A FUNDS WHEREAS, on June 7, 1988, the voters of San Mateo County approved Measure A, which was set to expire after 20 years; and WHEREAS, on November 2, 2004, the voters of San Mateo County approved the continuation of the collection and distribution by the San Mateo County Transportation Authority ("Authority") of Measure A; and WHEREAS, the new Measure A contains a new San Mateo County Transportation Expenditure Plan (TEP); and WHEREAS, the agreement will enable the Authority and the City to formalize the process, terms, and conditions governing the allocation and expenditure of the Transactions and Use Tax provided to the City under the 2004 Measure A; and WHEREAS, proceeds from the agreement will fund future City roadway/transportation infrastructure as outlined in the City's Capital Improvements Program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby approves an agreement with the San Mateo Counter Transportation Authority for distribution of the San Mateo County Measure A Funds. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the agreement on behalf of the City Council. * * ~ * ~ 1 I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 14t" day of January, 2009 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Pedro Gonzalez, Richard A.
