HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 139-2000RESOLUTION NO. 139-2000 CITY COUNCiL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE 2000- 2001 OPERATING BUDGET (NO. 01-13) TO INCLUDE THE $135,821.00 THE POLICE DEPARTMENT WILL RECEIVE FROM THE STATE UNDER THE SUPPLEMENTAL LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES FUND (SLESF) PROGRAM WHEREAS, Assembly Bill No. 3229 required that $100 million of the State's 1996-97 budget, be appropriated to create a new subvention to augment local law enforcement efforts; and WHEREAS, the Police Department used initial SLESF allotment money to hire two officers, to purchase all-terrain bicycles and related safety equipment, to train the officers in special patrol techniques and to defray overtime costs associated with these special patrols; and WHEREAS, the Department intends to continue using the SLESF funds to staff the two officer positions, to strengthen the bicycle patrol program, to acquire additional communication and safety equipment, and to defray overtime costs in order to sustain these special enforcement programs. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby approves an amendment to the 2000-2001 Operating budget (No. 12-01) to include the $135,821.00 the Police Department will receive from the State under the Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Fund (SLESP) Program. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 8th day of November ,2000 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Pedro Gonzalez and Eugene R.
