CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION SERVICES
CONTRACT FOR PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT
INSTALLATION TO EARTH STONE CONSTRUCTION AT
THREE LOCATIONS: TERRABAY GYMNASIUM AND
RECREATION BUILDING, PROJECT NO. 51-13232-0941;
AVALON PARK AND CITY HALL PLAY AREA, PROJECT
NO. 51-13232-0943, IN THE AMOUNT OF $33,626
WHEREAS, on February 10, 2009, staff mailed out thirty bid packages for the
installation of new playground equipment for the following locations: Terrabay Gymnasium and
Recreation Building, Avalon Park, and City Hall Play Area; and
WHEREAS, on March 1 1, 2009, staff received eleven bids, and Earth Stone Construction
of Winters, California was the lowest responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council adopt a resolution awarding the
construction services contract for playground installation project to Earth Stone Construction in
the amount of $33,626.
WHEREAS, the project will involve installation of new playground equipment
previously purchased from Miracle Playsystems, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funding is included in the 2008/2009 CIP Budget; Projects
CIP/51-13232-0941 and CIP/51-13232-0943.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby:
Awards a contract to Earth Stone Construction of Winters, California, in the
amount of $33,626 for playground installation at three locations, conditioned on
Earth Stone Construction's timely execution of the project contract and
submission of all required documents, including but not limited to, executed
bonds, certificates of insurance, and endorsements, in accordance with the project
bid documents.
2. Authorizes the City Manager to execute the Agreement on behalf of the City
Council of the City of South San Francisco upon timely submission by Earth
Stone Construction of the signed project contract and all other required
documents, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 8th day of
April, 2009 by the following vote:
