HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 31-2009RESOLUTION NO. 31-2009 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AWARDING THE CITY HALL CHILLER REPLACEMENT PROJECT NO. 51-13232-0925 WITH OPTION 1, THE ADDITION OF E-COAT ON THE NEW COILS, TO CITY MECHANICAL, INC. IN THE AMOjJNT OF $37,971.95 WHEREAS, on March 7, 2009, staff advertised a "Notice Inviting Bids" for the chiller replacement at City Hall and encouraged contractors to visit the area, verify work conditions and restrictions; and WHEREAS, on March 30, 2009, staff received six bids, and City Mechanical, Inc. of Hercules, California was the lowest responsible bidder; and WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council adopt a resolution awarding the construction services contract for the chiller replacement at City Hall project to City Mechanical, Inc. in the amount of $37,971.95; and WHEREAS, sufficient funding is included in the 2008/2009 CIl' Budget; Project CIP/51- 13232-0941. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby: 1. Awards a contract to City Mechanical, Inc. of Hercules, California, in the amount of $37,971.95 for the chiller replacement at City Hall conditioned on City Mechanical Inc.'s timely execution of the project contract and submission of all required documents, including but not limited to, executed bonds, certificates of insurance, and endorsements, in accordance with the project bid documents. 2. Authorizes the City Manager to execute the Agreement on behalf of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco upon timely submission by City Mechanical, Inc. of the signed project contract and all other required documents, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 22" day of April, 2009 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Pedro Gonzalez, Richard A.. Garbarino, and Kevin Mullin, Vice Mayor Mark Addie~o and Ma o~aryl Matsumoto NOES: None ABSTAIN: None ABSENT: None ATT T: Ci Clerk
