HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 33-2009RESOLUTION NO. 33-2009 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSULTANT SERVICES AGREEMENT TO TJKM FOR TRAFFIC STUDY AND MODELING SERVICES IN THE EAST OF 101 AREA IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $220,190 WHEREAS, land use in the East of 101 Area in South San Francisco has evolved over the last two decades from light industrial/warehouse to biotechnology research, development, and manufacturing; and WHEREAS, traffic study and modeling of the East of 101 Area ("Project") is now necessary to provide funding for future improvements and. to alleviate the traffic impact along East of 101 streets, intersections, and interchanges with Highway 101; and WHEREAS, in February 2009, staff issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Project and received six proposals; and WHEREAS, based on the strength of TJKM's proposal, its superior understanding of the Project, qualifications, and experience, staff recommends awarding the Project contract to TJKM in an amount not to exceed $220,190; and WHEREAS, the project is included in the City of South San Francisco's 2008-2009 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and sufficient funds are available. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco hereby: 1. Awards a consultant services contract in an amount not to exceed $220,190 to TJKM, of Pleasanton, California, for development of a comprehensive traffic study and preparation of a traffic model in the East of 101 Area, conditioned on TJKM's timely execution of the Project contract and submission of all required documents, including but not limited to, executed bonds, certificates of insurance, and endorsements, in accordance with the Project documents. 2. Authorizes the City Manager to execute the contract on behalf of the City Council upon timely submission by TJI~M of the signed contract and all other required documents, subject to approval by the City Attorney. -1- I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and ado~ted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 22" day of April, 2009 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Pedro Gonzalez, Richard A.
