CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE
1999-2000 OPERATING BUDGET (No. 00-7) TO INCLUDE
THE $60,235 THE POLICE DEPARTMENT WILL RECEIVE
FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE,
BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE
WHEREAS, the Omnibus Fiscal Year 1996 Appropriations Act, (Public Law 104-134),
authorized the Director of the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) to make funds available to
units of local government under the Local Law Enforcement Block Grants Program (LLEBG);
and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the LLEBG Program is to reduce crime and improve public
safety; and
WHEREAS, jurisdictions that are awarded the funds must meet a 10% matching funds
requirement; and
WHEREAS, the matching funds will be transferred from our existing patrol overtime
account #10-12720-4004 to the newly established special project referencing account.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby approves an amendment to the 1999-2000 Operating
Budget (No. 00-7) to include the $60,235 the Police Department will receive from the United
State Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the
City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regul ar meeting held on the 27th
_ day of October , 1999 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Joseph A. Fernekes. Eugene R. Mullin and John R.
Mayor Pro Tem Matsumoto and Mayor James L. Datzman
