CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING SURPLUS CENTENNIAL
FUNDING TO THE CULTURAL ARTS COMMISSION AND
AMENDING THE 2008/2009 BUDGET
WHEREAS, in 2008, the City of South San Francisco celebrated its 100th birthday; and
WHEREAS, funding was generated through sponsor donations, event revenue and
merchandise sales; and
WHEREAS, the Centennial Committee has offered suggestions for the Council's
consideration; and
WHEREAS, the Council desires to allocate surplus funds for the commission of artwork
that commemorates the City's 100th anniversary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco hereby:
1. Authorizes allocation of the surplus Centennial funds for the commission of artwork
commemorating the City's 100th anniversary.
2. Dire.~ts the Cultural Arts Commission to make a recommendation to the City Council
for approval of said artwork.
3. Amends the 2008-2009 budget to reflect this allocation.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 28`h day of
January, 2009 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Pedro Gonzalez, Richard A. Garbarino, and Kevin Mullin,
Vice Mayor Mark Addie~o and Mayor Karyl Matsumoto
